On the morning of October 6, a forest fire broke out at around 5:30 p.m. on October 5 from the Gao Pagoda area towards the Tran Hung Dao statue on An Phu mountain, An Sinh ward (Kinh Mon) and was controlled and extinguished by the forces.
However, the risk of forest fires in Kinh Mon town and Chi Linh city remains high. In these two localities, the forest rangers have identified 10 key areas with a high risk of forest fires.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydrometeorology, currently, Hai Duong area has no rain, dry weather, low humidity combined with a large amount of flammable materials due to broken trees after storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), so the risk of forest fire is very high. The forest fire forecast level in Chi Linh city and Kinh Mon town is at level 4 (danger level), the risk of forest fire is high, if a fire occurs, the fire will spread quickly.
Hai Duong Forest Protection Department requested the Forest Protection Department of Chi Linh City and Kinh Mon Town to continue advising the People's Committees of the city and town to strictly implement the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch No. 43/CD-TTg dated May 1, 2024 on continuing to resolutely and effectively deploy urgent measures to prevent and fight forest fires...; review plans and schemes for forest fire prevention and fighting with the motto "4 on-site".
Strengthen inspection, supervision, and strict control of fire use in and near forests, and strictly handle acts of using fire that pose a risk of causing forest fires during peak forest fire periods. Coordinate to promote propaganda and education to raise people's awareness and responsibility in forest fire prevention and fighting.
Check vehicles, machinery, equipment and tools for forest fire fighting to ensure the best service for forest fire prevention and fighting. Assign forces to be on duty 24/24 hours at the district headquarters, stations (fire watchtowers) during dry periods. Direct local forest rangers to increase patrols to protect forests, prevent and fight forest fires from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day in key areas with high risk of fire to detect early and organize forces to handle promptly when forest fires occur, resolutely not allowing large fires to occur...
The Mobile Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team ensures a permanent staff, strengthens the force to coordinate with the Forest Ranger Districts to patrol and protect the forest, and is ready to carry out forest fire fighting tasks when mobilized.
The Forest Protection Department requested the Hai Duong Forest Management Board to urgently organize a review of forests at high risk of fire, especially forest areas damaged and affected by storm No. 3. Mobilize forces and households that have contracted forests to collect combustible materials for proper handling. Regularly review forest fire prevention and fighting plans to supplement and adjust them to be closer to the actual situation.
Propaganda, mobilize, strictly prohibit households that receive forest contracts from using fire to treat vegetation. Strictly handle according to authority and report to competent agencies to handle according to law for households that intentionally use fire to burn and clear forest gardens, treat vegetation causing forest fires.
