Flood warning on rivers in Ninh Binh raised to alert level 3

According to information from the Ninh Binh Hydrometeorological Station, the flood on the Hoang Long River at Ben De and the Day River in Ninh Binh is rising. The water level at 6:00 a.m. on September 10, 2024 at Ben De was 3.5m (at alert level 2), the Day River in Ninh Binh was 2.89m (0.11m below alert level 2).

It is forecasted that in the next 12-24 hours, the water level on the Hoang Long River at Ben De is rising. At 6:00 a.m. this morning, the water level at Ben De reached 3.5 m, alert level 2. The flood peak is likely to reach alert level 3 (alarm 3: 4 m) at 1:00 p.m. on September 10, 2024.

On the Day River in Ninh Binh, the water level continues to rise slowly, the water level measured at 6:00 a.m. this morning reached 2.98 m, below alert level 2; the first peak is likely to be reached at 1:00 p.m. on September 10, 2024, at approximately alert level 3 (alarm 3: 3.5 m).

Flood disaster risk level is level 2.

With the above water level, forecasting agencies have warned of the risk of flooding and the possibility of other accompanying natural disasters such as: High river water level combined with local heavy rain, high risk of flooding in riverbanks, low-lying areas in communes of Nho Quan, Gia Vien districts, Ninh Binh city; flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, steep slopes, communes of Nho Quan, Hoa Lu districts, Tam Diep city
