Cao Bang handles smuggling on social networks

On June 26, the Cao Bang Provincial Market Management Department said that in the first 6 months of 2024 alone, the Department's units handled 25 smuggling cases, imposed administrative fines of nearly 100 million VND, and confiscated and forced the destruction of many exhibits.

More specifically, the unit also discovered 14 cases of subjects taking advantage of the environment, e-commerce platforms, and cyberspace to introduce and trade in smuggled goods of unknown origin.

Recently, on June 18, Market Management Team No. 1 issued a decision to fine TVD business household (address No. 45, resettlement area 3, group 1, De Tham ward, Cao Bang city) VND 15 million for not registering changes to the contents of the Business Registration Certificate with the district-level business registration agency within 10 days from the date of change.

This business household also used the notified logo to attach to the e-commerce website for sales without approval or confirmation of notification from the competent state agency as prescribed.

Another incident occurred in March 2024, Market Management Team No. 5 suddenly inspected a milk store at Song Bang ward, Cao Bang city, owned by Ms. MTTH, who regularly used the social network Facebook MTH to post sales information.

At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered that Ms. H's store was selling 20 types of foreign-made powdered milk products without invoices or documents proving their legal import origin. The value of the infringing goods according to the listed price at the store was 26.1 million VND. The authorities then fined this business household 16 million VND for selling smuggled milk on the social networking platform Facebook.

Since the beginning of the year, the Market Management Department of Cao Bang province has detected and handled 198 administrative violations in the trading of goods.

The violations are mainly related to prices, price posting, food safety violations, selling goods of unknown origin, smuggled goods... the amount paid to the state budget is over 1.2 billion VND.
