According to journalist Cotelo about striker Cavani on the El Observador news site, his daughter - Ema has been battling a chronic neurological disease for many years. About a year ago, her condition became serious, forcing her to be hospitalized in a clinic in Buenos Aires.

Baby Ema needed emergency surgery but the hospital demanded immediate cash payment, a huge sum that Cotelo could not come up with.

In desperation, he tried to contact Edinson Cavani, a striker who plays for Boca Juniors and whom he knew.

"He didn't answer because he was sleeping, so I called his wife and she gave the phone to Cavani. After a few words of explanation, Cavani reassured me: I'll be there soon with the money," said journalist Cotelo.

But now, a new problem arose as Cavani was more than an hour and a half away from the clinic. Without hesitation, the Uruguayan legend called a friend who was a restaurant owner. This friend quickly went to the hospital with the necessary money.

"He emptied the safe, all the sales that night... and brought it all to me. For me, Cavani is really a guardian angel," the journalist shared.

The surgery was successful and little Ema was saved thanks to Cavani's noble act. Journalist Cotelo later returned all the money he borrowed from Cavani.

Edinson Cavani, known as "El Matador", is one of Uruguay's greatest strikers. Starting his career at Danubio, he quickly made a name for himself in Europe with explosive performances at Palermo and Napoli, where he became a fearsome goalscoring machine.

Cavani's career peaked when he played for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), becoming the club's all-time leading scorer with 200 goals. He won numerous domestic titles, including six Ligue 1 titles.
