On July 17, Tuoi Tre newspaper coordinated with Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union to organize the Wings of Dreams scholarship and award program.
The program awarded 100 scholarships (VND 4 million/scholarship) to middle and high school students and 16 prizes to authors who wrote articles introducing students with difficult circumstances who overcame difficulties to study well in 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, with a total cost of about VND 430 million sponsored by Van Hien University.

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen Hoang Nguyen - deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper - said that Tuoi Tre newspaper always puts the principles of educating moral ideals, raising awareness, and caring for the young generation first.
Therefore, throughout the process of accompanying readers, Tuoi Tre newspaper always introduces typical examples of young people who do not surrender to adversity, always yearning to realize their dreams through words.
The program "For a Developing Tomorrow" has gone through 36 years of accompanying and encouraging the spirit of learning and perseverance in overcoming difficulties, preventing the dropout of young people in difficult circumstances.

Wings of Dreams is a new program, a "member" in the series of activities to care for learning that Tuoi Tre newspaper has been very successful with in recent years.
The Mekong Delta is considered an educational backwater, so support activities like this help disadvantaged children have better learning conditions and realize their dreams.
"In the coming time, I hope that Tuoi Tre newspaper and sponsors will continue to pay more attention to students in Dong Thap in particular and the Western region in general, so that they can continue to persevere in their studies and overcome difficulties," Mr. Phong shared.

Accordingly, students with good academic performance and above, difficult circumstances but with the will to excel in their studies and who are admitted to the school in 2024 will be sponsored by the school with scholarships equivalent to 100%, 50% and 30% of the full course tuition fee.
Moved by Nguyen Thi Kim Thao's situation, the leaders of Van Hien University decided to award Thao a full scholarship for all four years of university.
At the same time, the editorial board of Tuoi Tre newspaper also decided to award the 2024-2025 School Support scholarship to Thao to help her overcome adversity.

The Dream Wings Scholarship and Award Program will be held for 3 years with a total value of 19.3 billion VND. In 2024, it will be held for students in the Western region and in 2025 and 2026, it will be for students in the Southeast, Central Highlands and Central regions.
Wings of Dreams is an activity within the program "For a developing tomorrow" initiated by Tuoi Tre newspaper since 1988 until now.
After 36 years of continuous operation, the "For a Developing Tomorrow" scholarship program has implemented 587 programs. The total value of the program has mobilized more than 414 billion VND. It has helped about 72,523 students go to school.
Although it has appeared under many different names such as Supporting School, Sowing Knowledge, Wings of Dreams, Bright Spots in the Medical Industry or Accompanying Teachers. However, developing education - nurturing green shoots for the future is always the main criterion of the program.
