On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany, the community art project Chim chirped, chim lo, chim thanh giu giu giu gi? was held at Tao Dan Park (HCMC).
The program was initiated by the Goethe-Institut (Cultural Organization of the Federal Republic of Germany) in Vietnam, implemented by the artist group Baltic Raw Org (Germany), bringing together many artists, architects and ecological experts in the co-creation process.

The opening ceremony was attended by artist Berndt Jasper, playwright Moka Farkas (Baltic Raw Org), representatives of Think Playgrounds and ecological expert Nguyen Hoang Hao - Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Research and Conservation of Wild Birds (VBCS).
Speaking at the event, Ms. Thai Mai Lan, Director of the Goethe Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that the project not only celebrates the Vietnam-Germany cooperation relationship but also focuses on global topics such as ecology, climate and biodiversity.
"We want to redesign public spaces into places for dialogue and reflection on ecological issues. The work invites visitors to pause the hustle and bustle of life and listen to the birdsong, a familiar but often forgotten language in urban life," she shared.
The project presents an interactive sound installation where art, technology and ornithology intersect. At the “listening station”, bird sounds are recorded and processed using AI technology, combined with an international ornithological database to classify species and behaviors, and then translated into understandable scientific information for visitors.
According to the Baltic Raw Org, the idea of translating bird sounds into human language is both artistic and technologically challenging. The work suggests how humans can reconnect with nature, seeing bird sounds as a symbol of freedom, life, and a reminder of our responsibility to live in harmony with all species.
The "Listening Station" at Tao Dan Park will be open until the end of January 2026, welcoming the public to experience.
