Proactively prevent fire and explosion incidents in the operation and use of electricity.

Việt NamViệt Nam27/06/2024

Currently, the weather in Quang Tri is hot, so the demand for electricity is high, causing overload of some power lines and transformer stations. On the other hand, there is still a situation of vegetation, grass, flammable materials concentrated at the foot of electric poles, transformer stations, cable ditches, and some locations of electric poles and transformer stations are used by people as places of business... The above-mentioned problems increase the risk of electrical accidents and fires on the power grid.

To implement the direction of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department on strengthening propaganda, inspection and guidance on electrical safety to ensure fire and explosion prevention at facilities and households, Quang Tri Power Company (PC Quang Tri) has proactively coordinated with the police and the People's Committees at the commune level to continue to inspect electrical systems and equipment at a number of facilities and households to promptly detect violations of electrical safety to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety, and warn of possible risks of fire and explosion, especially at households and houses that combine production and business.

Through the inspection, timely instructions were given to establishments and households to fix the existing wiring system after the meter, ensuring safe use of electricity, avoiding overload, poor contact, short circuit... leading to heat generation, causing fire and explosion affecting people's lives and property. Strengthen propaganda and recommendations on fire prevention and fighting safety measures in electricity use to establishments and households on the website, customer care app, social networks, email and other forms to send to electricity customers.

Pay special attention to areas where the power grid passes through, areas where people often burn vegetation, burn straw and places where people often have the habit of dumping and gathering flammable materials at electric poles and transformer stations. Review the organization, assignment and division of tasks of each department and individual in prioritizing the operation of power supply during the hot season, not allowing major and prolonged incidents to occur, causing widespread power outages.

Strengthen control and supervision of the on-duty operation department, incident handling department at power plants, and mobile operation department of the High Voltage Grid Operation Management Team to comply with labor regulations, labor safety regulations, and traffic safety of the assigned force on-duty incident handling.

Units have measures to limit and more effectively implement the work of reducing incidents on the grid, including implementing solutions to reduce incidents on the grid suitable to the characteristics of each area, focusing on handling high-proportion incidents such as incidents caused by animals, corridors, customer equipment, etc. Customers are advised to control and limit grid incidents that affect and cause power outages on the grid of the electricity industry, especially focusing on thoroughly handling hotspots of corridors on the grid.

Increase the use of technological equipment such as PD devices, thermal cameras, flycams... to support the inspection of the power grid during the hot season; review the overall existence of the power grid such as grounding, line corridors; increase the frequency of checking the temperature of joints, contact positions, sag... at high-load power lines and transformer stations to promptly detect and handle incidents to prevent incidents.

Strengthen monitoring and grasping of customer recommendations related to electricity supply to direct definitive resolution, creating customer consensus.

Especially in recent days, the weather in Dong Ha city has been extremely hot, so the demand for electricity of households has increased.

Therefore, to ensure safe, reliable and continuous power supply for customers, Dong Ha Electricity has organized a general inspection of the medium and low voltage grid and especially at public load transformer stations on the grid, carried out on the basis of a field inspection program.

Use thermal cameras during inspection to detect and promptly handle potential incidents. Check all medium and low voltage corridors, thoroughly handle existing problems, and prevent incidents caused by trees.

Clean and clear vegetation and trash at transformer stations, underground cables, power lines... with high risk of fire. Update complete information on power outages and incidents to the OMS program as assigned. Check the fire extinguisher system located at the Power Operator, warehouse and MDF wood station.

Director of Dong Ha Electricity Truong Van Thang said that currently, in addition to strengthening inspection and handling to ensure safety in power grid operation, the unit prioritizes supplying electricity to medical facilities, schools, irrigation pumping stations and water plants in the province.

Prepare adequate spare parts to handle problems as quickly as possible. At the same time, update and respond to information related to power outages and problems on OMS for customers according to regulations.
