Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee requested to complete the plan to add water to To Lich River

(NLDO)- The Chairman of Hanoi assigned units to study a plan to add water from the Red River to the To Lich River along Vo Chi Cong Street.

The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a notice on the conclusion and direction of Chairman of the People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh at the meeting to listen to the report on the renovation and beautification of the area on both sides of the To Lich River.

To Lich River has been polluted and smelled foul for many years.

Accordingly, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh assigned relevant functional units to continue implementing tasks and solutions to improve the environment, ensure the landscape of the area on both sides of the To Lich River; report and propose the City People's Committee to consider and resolve issues beyond its authority.

The Department of Construction, People's Committees of relevant districts and towns coordinate with the City's Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Technical Infrastructure and Agriculture in completing documents, promptly handing over the site for the construction of wastewater collection pipelines at the discharge gates (about 56 additional discharge gates) of the Yen Xa wastewater treatment system project under construction; to complete construction in August 2025.

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the City's Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Technical Infrastructure and Agriculture to study a plan to supplement water from the Red River to the To Lich River along Vo Chi Cong Street.

Based on the optimal plan studied, the Department of Construction presided over and coordinated with relevant units to organize a workshop to solicit comments from organizations, experts, and scientists to absorb opinions and complete the plan to add water to the To Lich River, to be completed before August 20. In addition, the Department of Construction coordinated with the unit that proposed the design plan to renovate the To Lich River ( Sun Group Joint Stock Company) to clarify the investment plan to renovate the To Lich River by socialization or public investment.

Regarding the renovation of the To Lich riverside area in Cau Giay district, the Chairman of Hanoi requested that this district coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to have more information on the arrangement of administrative units in the area.

On that basis, the People's Committee of Cau Giay district, based on its assigned functions, tasks and authority, reviews, proposes, renovates and embellishes the area on both sides of the river to ensure convenience and inheritance.
