Delegates presented papers at the workshop "Research, teaching and application of mathematics"

During 3 days (from July 15 to 17), Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Dong Thap University organized the international conference “Research, teaching, application of mathematics”. This is a large forum for mathematicians in particular and scientists working in the fields of research, teaching, application of mathematics, especially the application of mathematics in economics and society.

At the conference, scientists from many countries around the world shared their research works, exchanged ideas and discussed future directions and research projects.

Associate Professor, Doctor of Mathematics Le Anh Vu – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Science Magazine, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, representative of the organizing committee – said that there were 47 reports sent by scientists to the conference, mainly focusing on 3 areas: Pure mathematics; statistical issues, probability and important applications; teaching mathematics at both high school and university levels.

Mr. Vu assessed that mathematics has never penetrated deeply into reality as it does today. Many works are related to code theory, graph theory, especially the application of mathematics in machine learning, deep learning (artificial intelligence).

This workshop “Research, teaching, application of mathematics” had the participation and presentation of a key report at the opening session of Professor, Doctor of Science Ngo Viet Trung, former President of the Vietnam Mathematical Association for the 2018-2023 term, former Director of the Vietnam Institute of Mathematics for the 2006-2013 period, a famous mathematician in Vietnam and in the world , who won the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the Ta Quang Buu Prize - the two most prestigious awards for Vietnamese scientists.

In addition, there was also the participation of experts and scientists: Prof. Dr. Jongil Park, current President of the Korean Mathematical Society, Prof. Dr. Jong Hea Keum, former President of the Korean Mathematical Society, Prof. Dr. Sijong Kwak, Principal of the School of Natural Sciences, Korean Academy of Advanced Studies in Science and Technology.
