In the first days of 2025, the working group of the Naval Region 2 Command brought about 20 tons of goods, necessities, Tet gifts, and affection from the mainland to the soldiers on duty at the front line of the Fatherland. After a 16-day voyage, the working group completed the task of bringing necessities, goods, and Tet gifts to officers and soldiers working on the DK1 Platforms.

Delivering gifts from the mainland to a remote island at the beginning of the new year, the working group continuously encountered rough waves, the sky was dark during the day, and strong waves made the ship rock. The strong winds and waves forced the team to deliver gifts via wire and send New Year greetings through the ship's loudspeaker.

The gifts were wrapped in waterproof plastic bags, tied to ropes and buoys, and floated from the ship to the rig under the tug of the marines.

The gifts were dropped from the ship, and the soldiers on the platform pulled the gifts up together. According to the soldiers on the Truong Sa 02 ship, the distance between the bags of goods had to be suitable for the platform to pull the goods, each bag of goods was about 10m apart.

However, with large gift bags, they must be tied further apart to make it easier to pull up to the rig.

Each Tet gift package with the flavor of the homeland is carefully wrapped and wrapped, showing the affection from the home front and the soldiers and people on the mainland.

The soldiers in the middle of the vast ocean could not welcome the delegation with a handshake or receive Tet gifts in person. But that did not prevent the connection between the mainland and the rigs.

Colonel Do Hong Duyen - Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 2, Head of the working delegation, inquired about the preparations for Tet and the Spring atmosphere on the platform; and sent Tet wishes to the soldiers on the platform.

The working group's train left, and three long whistles sounded as a farewell. The officers and soldiers on the platform stood there, waving the national flag and waving goodbye to the working group, reluctant to leave.

Depending on weather conditions, some platforms can lower boats to transfer goods. However, moving goods up and down and pulling goods up to the platform is not simple.

The delegation's visit not only brought Tet gifts: dong leaves, sticky rice, pork, apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, kumquat trees, necessities, goods... sent by localities, organizations and individuals across the country, but also gifts of spiritual significance: letters from students, messages from families and the home front.

The DK1 platform cluster (economic - scientific - service) was built in the reef area on the southern continental shelf. After more than 35 years at the forefront of the waves and winds, each platform is like a sovereignty landmark, a "divine eye" on the sea.

The navy soldiers also became a support for fishermen to confidently go out to sea. Such as rescuing Vietnamese fishing boats in distress, providing emergency treatment for fishermen, helping with fresh water, fuel, food, and medicine for fishing boats...
