Speaking at the meeting, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper Nguyen Minh Duc said: The 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025 is a major sporting event and one of the key activities of Hanoi city to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day; 26 years since Hanoi was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a City for Peace.
The 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025 was assigned by the Hanoi People's Committee to two agencies: Hanoi Moi Newspaper and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports to co-organize. The launching ceremony of the Run was held on March 23 at the Ba Kieu Temple flower garden and around Hoan Kiem Lake.

The Final will open at 7:00 tomorrow (September 28) at the Ba Kieu Temple flower garden and around Hoan Kiem Lake with the participation of more than 4,000 athletes, of which more than 3,000 will officially compete in the events. This year, the organization method has also changed. This is the first year of operation under a 2-level government, so the whole city has 126 communes and wards organizing the grassroots running tournament. The number of participating athletes is also much larger than last year, showing that the prestige of the tournament is increasingly spreading.
The Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper emphasized that the reason the tournament has such a large scale and increasingly improved quality is thanks to the enthusiastic response of athlete delegations from provinces, cities and sectors. At the final of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025, the advanced event gathered nearly 150 athletes competing in the advanced event from 16 provinces and cities including: Thai Nguyen, Ha Tinh, Bac Ninh, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Ho Chi Minh City, Lang Son, Hai Phong, Gia Lai, Army, Capital University, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports... This year's event attracted many famous athletes in the athletics community such as: Tran Van Dang (Hanoi), Phan Dang Khoa (Ha Tinh)... In addition, there were many talented young athletes such as Do Duc Thang, Doan An Khanh, Vu Manh Hung (Ninh Binh), Tran Minh Van (Thai Nguyen), Le Thuy Linh, Nguyen Hai Yen (Bac Ninh), Le Van Thao, Ha Duc Thang, Ha Van Hoan (Thanh Hoa)...

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper Nguyen Minh Duc congratulated and thanked the heads of delegations, coaches, and athletes who attended the tournament. At the same time, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper expressed his hope that the next tournament - the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Open Race - will continue to receive the support of many provinces, cities, and sectors across the country.
Head of the Hung Yen athletics delegation Doan Thi Thuy said that the Hung Yen delegation, formerly Thai Binh, regularly participates in the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Running Tournament. In particular, this year is the 50th time the tournament has been held, we feel very happy. In 2025, the Hung Yen delegation will participate in the tournament with 8 athletes, including familiar athletes such as Ngo Thi Khanh Ny, Luu Thi Thu, Luong Thi Hong... The Hung Yen delegation aims to achieve the highest results in the advanced women's category.

The head of the delegation and coach of the Ho Chi Minh City athletics team, Nguyen Van Vinh, said that despite the long distance, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation regularly participates in the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run. This year, due to preparations for the 2025 National Youth Athletics Championship, the team is also missing some young faces. The delegation participated with 6 athletes, including athletes Nguyen Van Khang, Hoang Duc Huy, Truong Thanh Binh... who have had achievements in national and international competitions. Participating in the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run is a very meaningful tournament, especially after participating for many years, so when we came to Hanoi this time, we felt as close as coming home. The tournament also has the meaning of "For Peace", so we feel very happy and proud.

Head of the Hanoi Athletics Delegation Nguyen Cong Nam said that in terms of strength, due to the upcoming National Youth Championship, the Coaching Board could only select 8 athletes to participate, in which the key player is athlete Tran Van Dang. This is an athlete who has won the advanced men's category of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Running Tournament for 2 consecutive years. In 2025, in the advanced category, I noticed that many strong delegations such as the Army, Lai Chau, Ha Tinh, or Ho Chi Minh City, although far away, are present. Therefore, the professional quality of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Running Tournament in 2025 is very high. Hopefully, tomorrow the weather will be favorable, and the athletes will maintain their physical strength to compete well.

“The Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run has gone through 50 years, and has increasingly spread not only to provinces and cities in the country, but also to foreigners with the message “For Peace”. Therefore, the Tournament is truly a great source of encouragement for athletes across the country when athletics is honored in such a traditional tournament. Hopefully, 50 years later, the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run will continue to develop and spread even more widely”, Mr. Nguyen Cong Nam expressed.
Also at the meeting, the Organizing Committee of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run presented certificates to individuals, sponsors, and athlete delegations from provinces and cities, to acknowledge their contributions to the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace.
Tomorrow morning, September 28, the final round of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025 will officially take place at Ba Kieu Temple and around Hoan Kiem Lake.
