On September 30, representatives of Duy Tan University awarded a scholarship to new student Vuong Thi Linh Kieu, who is studying logistics and supply chain management at the school.

A school representative said that after reading information about Vuong Thi Linh Kieu's situation in Tuoi Tre newspaper, the school principal decided to grant a full scholarship to this new student of the K30 course.

Accordingly, the full scholarship for the entire course is worth more than 132 million VND/8 semesters.

"The principal was very moved by Kieu's story of perseverance, so he decided to award her a scholarship to help her continue her education without having to worry about financial burdens," said a school representative.

Receiving the scholarship, Kieu said she was very surprised and promised to be determined to overcome difficulties and study well to maintain this scholarship throughout her time at school.

"Now that I have received this full scholarship, I have less worry about tuition fees. I will save the 15 million VND scholarship from the recent "Tiep Suc Den Truong " program to cover living expenses and buy a car to make it easier to get to school," Kieu said.

Tuoi Tre has many times 'supported' Linh Kieu

Freshman Vuong Thi Linh Kieu is from Binh Tinh village, Binh Minh commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province. In 2006, her father died in super typhoon Chanchu when she was less than 2 months old.

Kieu and her sister, who was four years older than her, grew up as orphans. Their mother worked far away to earn money to raise them. Despite living in poverty, Kieu still studied very well.

Seven years ago, the Tuoi Tre newspaper's "Firefly Lantern" scholarship program also awarded him a scholarship. Recently, the 2024 Support to School scholarship program continued to award him a scholarship of 15 million VND and a laptop.
