Mr. Trinh Dinh Truong - General Director of Bien Ho Tea Joint Stock Company - said that the pine trees were planted during the French colonial period, when the French built tea plantations. "For many years, few people knew about the poetic beauty of the pine trees. Some orchid growers even tried to scrape the pine bark to use the growing medium for orchids, damaging the growth of the "old pine trees". The company had to install a surveillance and security camera system, and number each pine tree for easy management," said Mr. Truong. Tourists who come to take photos with the pine trees not only enjoy the fresh nature but can also shop for local products. The Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province has built a Vietnamese sales point in 2023 in the area of the hundred-year-old pine trees. The Department is the focal point for introducing and connecting units and OCOP entities in the province to create favorable conditions for the implementation of Vietnamese sales points, bringing products to consumers and tourists near and far. The OCOP booth sells many typical products of Gia Lai province, such as honey, coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, dried beef, tea, etc.
