On the night of September 16, on her personal page, Ms. TT, in Long Truong ward, Ho Chi Minh City, shared information that her child was abused by a kindergarten teacher, along with a photo of the child's cheek showing a clear handprint.
According to the mother, on August 1, teacher TVTNh., a teacher at Tuoi Tho Kindergarten (formerly Phu Huu ward, now Long Truong ward) slapped her daughter NL, a student in class Choi 2, in the face when she vomited after eating lunch.

The family took the child to the doctor and was diagnosed with soft tissue trauma to the left cheek, with large bruises and swelling due to a hand strike on the cheek. In addition, the child was also psychologically frightened, cried a lot, and was afraid to go to school.
According to Ms. T., at first, she did not dare to talk about being beaten by her teacher. Only after her family asked her many times and the doctor encouraged her did she tell them that she and some other classmates were beaten by Ms. Nh.
When Ms. T.'s family reacted, the school and Ms. Nh. hoped that the parents would withdraw the complaint and said that Ms. Nh. would proactively resign.
Ms. T. was reassured to let her child go back to school, but learned that Ms. Nh. was still working at the school. Seeing Ms. Nh., Ms. T.'s daughter was scared and refused to go to school. Ms. T. had to let her child stay home temporarily, waiting for the school's decision.
Her daughter has been absent from school for a week now. Ms. T. has contacted the principal many times but has not received any answer on how to discipline Ms. N.
It has been more than 1.5 months since the incident happened, but the school has not taken any action to deal with the teacher who abused the child. Ms. T. is upset and decided to share the incident on social media.
Right after Ms. TT posted the information online, on September 17, Tuoi Tho Kindergarten sent a response to all parents of the school.
According to the school, during the performance of his duties, the teacher physically impacted the child, leaving a handprint and some bruises on the child's left cheek.
When the incident occurred, the school suspended the teacher from teaching; required the teacher to make a report and seriously review, and assigned other support tasks at the office to monitor and educate the teacher to correct his mistakes.
The school also held a meeting to review experiences of all staff, teachers and employees, to thoroughly prevent the recurrence of violations of professional ethics, as well as to establish a disciplinary council to handle them according to authority and regulations.
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Principal of Tuoi Tho Kindergarten, said that the school can only deal with teachers who violate the rules within its authority based on the level of the teacher's violation. In this case, it is not to the extent of being fired.
Regarding the parents not receiving information about the disciplinary action against the teacher who abused their child, Ms. Trang said that the school's Disciplinary Council had issued disciplinary action against Ms. Nh. but at the same time, Ms. Nh. submitted a request for medical leave.
“The school is also waiting for Ms. Nh to return to school to hold a meeting to announce the disciplinary decision. After the meeting with Ms. Nh, the school will have official information to parents about the disciplinary action against this teacher,” said Ms. Trang.
Regarding the disciplinary action against Ms. N., Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang said that this was the first time Ms. N. had violated the law and was disciplined with a reprimand.
