Lam Dong police join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

Removing temporary and dilapidated houses is not only an act of profound humane significance but also a concretization of the spirit of "serving the people" of the Lam Dong Provincial Police force.

The police force of the whole province has contributed thousands of working days to build houses for poor households and policy households.

Overcoming difficulties to bring shelter to the poor

With the strong determination of the entire Lam Dong Provincial Police force, hundreds of solid shelters for poor, near-poor households and ethnic minorities have been built.

During the 2024 - 2025 period, with proactive advice and high determination, the Provincial Police coordinated with forces, businesses, and philanthropists to mobilize tens of billions of VND, along with many construction materials to support the program.

Of which, the Ministry of Public Security supported 30 billion VND, and mobilized the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group to support 5 billion VND. The provincial police also mobilized businesses and philanthropists to contribute more than 426 million VND and construction materials. At the same time, officers and soldiers in the entire force voluntarily contributed 3 days' salary with a total amount of more than 10.6 billion VND to the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses of the Government and the Ministry of Public Security.

Colonel Tran Van Muoi, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, reported on the results achieved by the Provincial Police Department at the conference summarizing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

Facing many difficulties in weather, terrain and material sources, the Provincial Police launched a peak period of "56 days of construction to remove temporary and dilapidated houses". Accordingly, 5 working groups led by the Director and Deputy Directors of the Provincial Police were established to direct, inspect and urge at the grassroots level.

Along with that, 100% of leaders and commanders of departments and police of communes, wards and towns have paid attention to directing, inspecting, guiding and urging the implementation of housing construction to ensure the right goals, supported subjects and progress.

With the motto "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, only progress, no retreat", the entire force joined the fight simultaneously, deploying from easy households first, difficult ones later, ensuring progress and quality.

By June 26, 2025, Lam Dong Provincial Police had completed the construction of 542 houses for policy families, poor and near-poor households and ethnic minorities, 4 days ahead of schedule.

This is a result demonstrating the high determination of the police force, at the same time contributing to spreading the humanitarian spirit, bringing sustainable homes to people in difficulty.

The program has created consensus and trust among the people, helping people feel secure in their work and production, stabilize their lives, gradually reduce poverty sustainably, and more closely connect the relationship between the police force and the people.

With the support of the police force, hundreds of disadvantaged households in the province have solid houses.

Spreading human values

Lam Dong Provincial Police continue to identify the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as a long-term task, closely linked to the goal of ensuring security and order at the grassroots level.

The survey shows that in the province, there are still many ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances, living in temporary, dilapidated houses. Many households are not eligible for housing construction support from the provincial program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Currently, the Provincial Police are mobilizing officers and soldiers of the Commune, Ward and Special Zone Police to contribute working days to coordinate with local authorities to build and soon complete 792 houses under the National Target Programs and housing support policies for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.

In the coming time, the police force will deploy about 50 more houses from the support fund of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group for poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in ethnic minority areas, especially in key areas with potential security and order complications. These houses are expected to be completed in November 2025.

Not only stopping at directly supporting house construction, the Provincial Police also directs the Commune Police force to regularly monitor and grasp the implementation of programs, projects and policies for the poor, promptly detect and handle cases of taking advantage of policies for personal gain.

This affirms that the police force not only actively participates in implementing social security but also maintains discipline, not giving subjects the opportunity to take advantage of the humane policies of the Party and State for illegal profits.
