Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organizes trains and flights to help workers return home for Tet

The information was announced by a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (HCMC) at a regular press conference providing socio -economic information in the city on the afternoon of January 16.

According to Mr. Cao Van Thang, Chief of Office of Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, this year the city is taking care of Tet At Ty, with the motto "Tet comes to all union members and workers, not leaving anyone behind".

With this motto, the HCM City Labor Federation focuses on organizing care for union members and workers, with many outstanding programs. Notably, this year's "Tet Sum Vay" program with the theme "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Solidarity", the City Labor Federation will take care of 15,000 union member households in difficult circumstances. Priority will be given to union members who have unpaid wages, social insurance, are affected by storms and floods, union members who cannot return home for Tet, etc.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year this year, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation also organized the program "Ticket of love - Spring of union members" at the city level. It is expected that the unions at all levels will mobilize to donate about 40,000 train and bus tickets to union members and workers.

Notably, the city was supported by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with 495 train tickets under the "Union Train" program and 118 plane tickets under the "Union Flight" program, to support union members and workers returning home for Tet.

For the program "Workers' Festival - Charity Market", with the theme "Encouraging cashless payments" associated with the program "Vietnamese Tet Flavor Week", will take care of 9,500 disadvantaged union members, union members,...

Particularly for the program "Workers' families enjoy Tet with the city" for the 4th time in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will coordinate to organize and take care of 10,000 families of union members, workers, and exemplary civil servants who have completed their tasks well and actively participated in union activities and entertainment packages at Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area associated with the experience of Metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien route).

Ho Chi Minh City has maintained activities to support train tickets for workers and laborers to return home for Tet for many years.

Mr. Thang assessed that, in addition to the activities under the direction of Ho Chi Minh City, the direct superior trade union and the grassroots trade union also organized many activities to take care of union members and workers. It is expected that more than 500,000 union members and workers will be taken care of, with a total estimated budget of 500 billion VND. This level is also higher than last year.
