On August 26, in Da Nang, HorecFex Vietnam 2025 - the country's largest exhibition and forum on technology and innovation in the hotel, restaurant and culinary industry (HORECA) - opened. According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, this event is held in the context of Vietnam's tourism industry accelerating and making a strong breakthrough.

In 2024, Vietnam welcomed over 17.6 million international tourists, achieving the highest recovery rate in ASEAN (reaching 98% compared to the record level in 2019); serving over 110 million domestic tourists. Total tourism revenue reached 840 trillion VND. Vietnam's tourism development capacity index has continuously improved, currently ranked 59/119 economies in 2024 by the World Economic Forum.
In the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam tourism will welcome over 12.2 million international visitors, an increase of 22.5% over the same period in 2024, serving 93 million domestic visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching about 616 trillion VND. Tourism is assessed by the Government and the Prime Minister as a bright spot in the country's socio-economic picture in recent times.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, these are very positive results, demonstrating the attractiveness of Vietnam on the world tourism map. At the same time, it affirms the important role of the tourism industry in contributing to the goal of economic growth in the era of rising up, developing strongly and prosperously of the country.
“The entire tourism industry is in a period of acceleration and strong breakthroughs to achieve new development goals, making important contributions to the country's economic growth targets assigned by the Government and Prime Minister in 2025 and the following years,” said Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh.
In that acceleration and breakthrough, the Director of the National Tourism Administration acknowledged that the business community is the decisive factor and driving force for the development of Vietnam tourism. Along with the growth of the tourism industry, the system of technical facilities for tourist accommodation, restaurants and cuisine services is increasingly consolidated and rapidly developed in terms of quantity, type and quality.

A series of international-scale service complexes, managed by economic groups with many leading brands, have contributed to enhancing the attractiveness and competitiveness of Vietnam tourism, ensuring the ability to supply and meet the diverse needs of tens of millions of visitors each year in different market segments.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh also said that currently the tourism industry is focusing on implementing Resolutions and Directives of the Government and Prime Minister on promoting tourism development, ensuring the achievement of the double-digit economic growth target in the coming time.
Some important tasks that need to be focused on include increasing the attractiveness of destinations; focusing on investment and developing new, creative and different tourism products; improving the system of technical facilities and infrastructure serving tourism.
In particular, the entire industry is making efforts to promote digital transformation solutions in the spirit of the Politburo's Resolution 57, aiming to form a seamlessly connected smart tourism ecosystem, comprehensively supporting tourism management and business and enhancing the tourist experience.
