Constantly innovate at work

Mr. Dao Quoc Khoa - Head of finished product warehouse, Semitec Electronics Vietnam One Member Co., Ltd. (Can Giuoc district), focuses on creativity in work

Six years working with Semitec Electronics Vietnam Company Limited (Can Giuoc district, Long An province), Mr. Dao Quoc Khoa (born in 1999) is currently the Head of the finished product warehouse, not only working hard, completing assigned tasks well but also researching and proposing many innovative initiatives to improve work efficiency.

In the role of managing import and export of goods, controlling barcodes and ensuring the accuracy of product quantity and weight, Mr. Quoc Khoa works with a high sense of responsibility, is careful in every step and constantly learns to improve his expertise.

During his work, he contributed many innovative ideas . One of the typical initiatives that he was satisfied with and was recognized and widely deployed by the Company was the automatic weight input on barcode labels - completely replacing manual recording operations which have many potential risks of errors.

Mr. Quoc Khoa shared: “This initiative originated from the reality of work. I realized that manually recording product weight often leads to mistakes, takes time to check and affects the overall work progress. Therefore, I proactively proposed an improvement plan to automatically enter weight on barcode labels. During the implementation of the initiative, I worked closely with colleagues and superiors to adjust the software, tested it many times to apply it stably. Thanks to that, the process became faster and more accurate, contributing to minimizing errors, effectively supporting the workforce and improving work productivity.”

Receiving encouragement and recognition from the Board of Directors, support from colleagues, especially the joy from initiatives that bring practical benefits to the Company, Mr. Quoc Khoa is given more motivation and confidence to continue to have new innovative initiatives, promote creativity, and contribute more to the sustainable development of the Company.

Catching up with digital transformation

Ms. Dang Thi Chuc Em - Accounting Department employee, SAMBU LA Company Limited (Duc Hoa district), received a certificate of merit for Excellent Worker and Laborer.

As an employee of the Accounting Department, SAMBU LA Company Limited (Duc Hoa district), Ms. Dang Thi Chuc Em (born in 1997) left many impressions on the Board of Directors and colleagues thanks to her progressive spirit, eagerness to learn, dedication and active digital transformation at work.

Taking on the tasks of debt payment, warehouse accounting and related accounting work, Ms. Chuc Em strives to complete assigned tasks well, proactively checks data, updates reports; at the same time, constantly learns to find optimal solutions for the job.

In her five years of work, she has had two initiatives that have been practically applied, contributing to improving the efficiency of operations in the accounting department. Among them, the initiative she is most proud of is the automation of the supplier debt payment tracking table using Excel with an integrated overdue warning function. Based on the fact that manual debt tracking is time-consuming and prone to errors, she proactively researched and built an automatic tracking table. This is also how she keeps up with digital transformation in her work.

“Although at first I encountered many difficulties in optimizing formulas and ensuring the spreadsheet worked smoothly, thanks to my perseverance in learning and timely support from colleagues and superiors, my initiative was completed and applied to actual work,” Ms. Chuc Em confided.

After applying the initiative, checking debts and sending information to relevant departments only takes a few minutes instead of hours as before. The initiative not only helps increase accuracy, reduce work pressure but also helps her allocate time more effectively.

Ms. Chuc Em shared: “The company always encourages staff to propose improvements and creativity in their work. The support and recognition from colleagues and leaders is a great source of motivation for me to continue to make more efforts. I aim to continue to have initiatives for automatic cost reporting to increase accuracy, reduce work pressure and contribute to building a dynamic and professional working environment ."

Small initiative, big effect

Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa - employee of the Anti-loss Department, Long An Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company (Tan An City), uses a negative correlation machine to detect the location of the be pipe.

After ten years of working at Long An Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company (Tan An City), Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa - an employee of the Anti-leakage Department, has become one of the outstanding individuals thanks to his enthusiasm, high sense of responsibility and constant innovation in work. Mr. Dang Khoa is in charge of detecting leaks in the entire water supply system managed by the Company.

By using specialized equipment, he and his colleagues promptly detect and handle leaks that cause water loss. In addition, he also participates in regulating water pressure to ensure the needs of people; at the same time, coordinates with relevant departments to handle violations by organizations and individuals who illegally use water and damage the Company's water supply system.

During his work, Mr. Dang Khoa was enthusiastic, performed his role and responsibilities properly, was not afraid of difficulties, and completed the assigned work well. Not only was he dedicated, he also promoted his creativity with the technical innovation initiative of Replacing smart water meters to bring efficiency in management and operation, prevent loss and gradually move towards smart water supply.

This idea came from the reality of work. He realized that the work of recording meter readings was time-consuming and the old meters were not very accurate. Therefore, he proposed to replace the old meters with smart meters in one area first, then evaluate the effectiveness and continue to implement in other areas. Implementing this initiative, the cost of replacing the meters was quite high, so Mr. Dang Khoa also encountered some difficulties. However, he was determined to convince the Company's Board of Directors with the results.

Mr. Dang Khoa said: “The results are as expected. Smart meters contribute to reducing the cost of operating and managing the water meter system, reading numbers automatically from a distance accurately, especially importantly, not requiring staff to read numbers to have direct contact with consumers, helping to save a lot of labor costs for reading indexes and making customer lists, contributing to improving labor productivity - an inevitable trend in the current 4.0 industrial era”.

When applying Mr. Dang Khoa's initiative, the total loss rate of the Company decreased by 3.5% compared to 2023. Specifically, it decreased from 9.45% (2023) to 5.95% (2024), the amount of recovered water is estimated at about 742,000m3 . "When the innovation initiative was recognized and brought about efficiency, I was very happy. I felt proud to have contributed a small part to the development and success of the Company as well as the community. The initiative was recognized as a recognition of my efforts, intelligence and passion for innovation at work. I continue to develop this technical initiative as well as have new initiatives to improve work efficiency" - Mr. Dang Khoa confided.

Innovative initiatives from young workers not only bring practical results to businesses but also demonstrate maturity in thinking, innovative spirit and will to excel in labor.
