Multi-colored raspberry chrysanthemums sold for Tet are sought after by many traders.

As one of the few gardeners growing multi-colored chrysanthemums, farmer Tran Van Ut Hung, residing in Tan Khanh Dong commune, Sa Dec city, Dong Thap province, said that this year he planted more than 10,000 flower baskets to sell for Tet. Of these, there are 600 multi-colored chrysanthemums with two colors: purple and red.

Nearly a month ago, when the plants just started to bud, traders came and bought them all in advance. Because they were grown in small pots, he sold them in the garden for 140,000 VND/pair.

Mr. Hung said that compared to traditional raspberry chrysanthemums, the advantage of this multi-colored raspberry chrysanthemum variety is that it has nearly 10 colors. The growing time is also faster, just over 3 months to be able to sell. Because it is new and appears for the first time, many people are looking to buy it. Currently, depending on the size of the pot and the number of flowers in the pot, the selling price at Sa Dec Flower Village ranges from 140,000 VND to 400,000 VND/pair.

Previously, due to pre-orders for the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival, the entire Sa Dec Flower Village only had about 3,000 baskets of multi-colored raspberry chrysanthemums that were processed to bloom early. The colorful raspberry chrysanthemum baskets, appearing for the first time, became a "phenomenon" attracting attention, many people expressed regret when there were no more flowers to buy.
