Da Nang: Commencement of the project to build an embankment to prevent landslides along the Tam Ky River

On October 15, in Huong Tra ward, the Quang Nam Construction Investment Project Management Board (under the People's Committee of Da Nang City) organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the anti-erosion embankment combined with the scenic road along Tam Ky river and the resettlement area.

According to the locality, the northern bank of the Tam Ky River, passing through Huong Tra Ward ( Da Nang City), has been severely affected by major floods in recent years. This has caused serious riverbank erosion, directly threatening people's lives, property, and productive land. In particular, the 2024 flood has increased the risk of landslides, making the lives of hundreds of households in a state of constant insecurity.

Faced with that reality, investing in the anti-erosion embankment project combined with the scenic road along the Tam Ky river and the resettlement area is an urgent requirement, meeting the legitimate aspirations of the people. At the same time, it contributes significantly to the work of natural disaster prevention, protecting urban infrastructure and sustainable ecological environment.

The total capital for the river embankment and road projects along the embankment is nearly 95 billion VND, with the expected implementation period from October 15, 2025 to June 11, 2026. This includes the construction of 1.1 km of solid river embankment to prevent landslides; 1.4 km of 13.5 m wide urban roads, forming infrastructure connections, promoting the development of trade, tourism and services...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that the project is not just a simple construction project, but a symbol of solidarity and determination to overcome difficulties. It is a concrete step in the strategy of sustainable urban development, adapting to climate change, contributing to building Da Nang City greener, safer and more prosperous.

Thereby, Mr. Tran Nam Hung requested the contractor consortium to promote the highest sense of responsibility, mobilize resources, equipment, quality human resources, and apply advanced technology.
