Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographers in Lao Cai province, term 2024

(NADS) - On the morning of December 20, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Lao Cai province held the Congress for the 2024 - 2029 term.

Attending the Congress were delegates: Artist Nguyen Xuan Chinh, member of the Executive Committee, Head of the Creative Committee, Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Vice President in charge of the Lao Cai Provincial Literature and Arts Association; Mr. Ha Van Thang, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of Lao Cai Department of Tourism ; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Duong, former President of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association; Ms. Mai Thanh Nga, Deputy Chief of Office in charge of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

Reporting at the Congress of Vietnamese Artists Pham Gia Chien, Chairman of the Vietnam Artists Association of Lao Cai province, presented a report summarizing the work of the Association for the 2019 - 2024 term and directions for the 2024 - 2029 term; Report reviewing the work of the Association's Executive Committee for the 2019 - 2024 term.

The Association has paid attention to the work of developing members. During the term, it admitted 5 more members to the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and 2 members are Vietnamese Artists.

Also during the term, more than 100 members were sent to attend creative camps organized by the Association of Vietnamese Artists, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, and the Lao Cai Literature and Arts Association; organized creative field trips; mobilized members to participate in international, central, regional and local competitions; organized professional activities within the Association.

The association organizes many creative activities: Organizing creative field trips to many locations inside and outside the province in the form of individuals, groups and collectives. Photographers attend creative camps organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the Vietnam Association of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities, and the Lao Cai Literature and Arts Association. Consulting and participating in organizing, sending members to the Jury of 21 photo contests of units and localities in Lao Cai province.

Members have submitted over 2,000 works to participate in local, regional, central and international photo contests and festivals, winning many high-ranking awards and having many works of high artistic and journalistic value selected for exhibition.

The Congress elected a new Executive Committee for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 3 comrades. Comrade Pham Gia Chien was re-elected to continue holding the position of Branch Head of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Lao Cai province for the 2024-2029 term. Comrade Pham Ngoc Bang was elected to hold the position of Branch Vice Head. The Congress also elected 3 delegates to attend the National Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists for the 2025-2030 term.
