New development milestone of Quang Tri province

This morning, June 30, at the hall of the Quang Binh Provincial Culture and Cinema Center, a particularly important event took place: The ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the central and provincial governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces, communes, wards, and special zones of Quang Tri province (new) from July 1, 2025.

The announcement ceremony was held live and broadcast live on the Quang Binh Newspaper and Radio - Television, Quang Tri Newspaper and Radio - Television. The event was attended by leaders of the Government, central ministries and branches, leaders and former leaders of the two provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri, leaders of departments, branches, sectors... of the two localities.

July 1, 2025 will be a special historical milestone for the people of Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces - the day when two localities with rich revolutionary traditions, culture and solidarity officially merge into a new province called Quang Tri.

This is not only an administrative event, but also has profound political , economic, cultural and social significance. The merger of the provinces is to implement the major policy of the Party and State in the process of innovating the organization to be streamlined, operate effectively and efficiently, and in line with the development trend. Quang Tri and Quang Binh used to be one province, were closely connected during the war, and shared similarities in geography, culture and people, so the merger is more natural, inevitable, reasonable and favorable to create a new, synchronous and sustainable development space.

During these days, the joyful and excited atmosphere spread throughout the agencies, units and people. Officials, party members and people of the two provinces welcomed the event with confidence and expectation. Everyone happily discussed development opportunities, the potential for connecting tourism, marine economy, economic zones, industry, renewable energy, inter-regional infrastructure development...

In agencies, departments, and branches, cadres, civil servants, and public employees no longer have a cautious mentality, but instead have a proactive, responsible spirit, and are ready to merge and coordinate to reorganize the apparatus for the common good. Unions at all levels carry out many propaganda and agitation activities to celebrate the important event, creating a jubilant and united atmosphere.

The merger of Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces not only changes the administrative map but also represents a strategic restructuring to serve the goal of sustainable and comprehensive development. The great significance of this event is also to begin opening up opportunities to increase resources, re-plan regional development space, and maximize the advantages of geography, transportation, resources and people to make a strong breakthrough.

From here, a new province with a larger stature, higher position and stronger momentum was formed - a premise for advancement in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and improving people's lives.

And of course, the journey ahead is not without difficulties. The merger, in addition to consensus, must have scientific management and operation and a high sense of responsibility from the entire political system. But with the heroic and resilient tradition of the people of Quang Tri - Quang Binh, along with the belief in the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the management and operation of the government, and the support of the central government, the new province will certainly soon stabilize, develop more strongly and comprehensively.

The merger of Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces on July 1, 2025 is not only a "reunion" of two localities that were once one in the past, but also the starting point of a new journey: solidarity, integration, and development - where people's hearts are in agreement, their will is in harmony with their aspirations to rise up for a bright future for their homeland and country.
