Boosting consumer demand, maintaining economic growth momentum

The end of the third and fourth quarters of each year is considered the time when people's demand for shopping, traveling and entertainment activities increases.

This is the "golden time" for businesses to boost production activities and expand product consumption markets, contributing to completing the economic growth target of Dak Lak province in 2025.

In the first and second quarters, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the province reached nearly VND92,742 billion, up 16% over the same period last year and equal to 50.8% of the yearly plan. These figures are clear evidence of the province's economic recovery and development.

In the third quarter of 2025, with activities to stimulate consumption and services during the National Day holiday on September 2, along with promotions for the back-to-school season and the Mid-Autumn Festival, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the whole province is estimated to reach 43,000 billion VND, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2024.

The Provincial People's Committee has also developed a plan to implement solutions to continue promoting domestic market development and stimulating consumption in the province with the expectation that in the fourth quarter, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue will reach VND 53,000 billion, completing a growth rate of 17% for the whole year 2025.

To boost purchasing power, the Department of Industry and Trade has requested businesses in the province to develop and implement diverse and attractive promotional programs that are suitable for the actual consumption needs of the people such as: discounts, gifts; lucky draws, lucky draws; implementing reward programs for regular customers; organizing promotional programs with themes such as "Back-to-school Promotion Month", "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival", and consumption stimulation activities suitable for the actual conditions of each locality and the needs of each customer group, especially students and households with small children. Proactively organize trade promotion activities, display and introduce products, promote online sales in combination with traditional shopping; prioritize the promotion and consumption of typical rural industrial products, OCOP products, local specialties to stimulate consumption in and outside the province; Support bringing agricultural and aquatic products of Dak Lak province to display and sell in supermarkets, stores...

When implementing promotional programs, businesses need to list prices and transparent promotional information in accordance with legal regulations. In addition, it is necessary to increase the application of digital technology in sales and electronic payment activities; promote promotional activities on e-commerce platforms and social networks; increase the organization of mobile sales and markets to bring Vietnamese goods to rural and mountainous areas to serve the consumption needs of people in remote, isolated and ethnic minority areas, contributing to stabilizing the market for people to buy goods at reasonable prices and guaranteed quality.

Along with consumer stimulus activities, authorities also strengthen market inspection and control, especially regarding the origin and quality of goods, preventing speculation and hoarding, ensuring the supply of essential goods, and protecting consumer rights.

At the same time, continue to improve the effectiveness of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", promote propaganda and promotion through newspapers and social networks to increase the presence of OCOP products and local goods to consumers inside and outside the province.
