The Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City said that the Tax Department of District 7 - Nha Be district has just sent a document to the City People's Committee requesting the revocation of the license to establish the American International Primary, Secondary and High School (commonly known as the American International School) under the American International Education Joint Stock Company AIS.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training decided to suspend the American International School's operations from July 1 due to failing to ensure teaching conditions and not having enough financial resources, teachers and staff.

According to the Department of Education and Training, this school currently has only 10 foreign teachers and 18 Vietnamese teachers (6 primary school teachers, 12 secondary school teachers); there is no new principal to replace it because the American International Education Corporation AIS is proposing to review and reorganize the School Board. In addition, this company has not provided documents demonstrating sufficient financial resources as prescribed to ensure the maintenance and development of educational activities.

The Department of Education and Training said that, considering the current conditions, the American International School is not qualified to resume operations in time for the 2024-2025 school year because it has not provided sufficient documents to demonstrate that it has overcome the causes leading to the suspension.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training have directed the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and districts, and public high schools in the city to be ready to receive students from the American International School.

Currently, students in Ho Chi Minh City have returned to school. Therefore, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training recommend that parents should not wait for the American International School to be qualified to reopen, but should quickly complete the transfer procedures to ensure the continuity of their children's education. If parents encounter financial difficulties or difficulties in completing the transfer procedures, the public school system will create all conditions to receive students from the American International School.
