How are exam papers and tests preserved?

Today, June 27, candidates officially entered the high school graduation exam with the first exam being literature (120 minutes), starting at 7:35 am. This is also the only essay-based exam in this exam. In the afternoon, from 2:30 pm, candidates took the math exam (90 minutes) in multiple-choice format.

AVOID THE SITUATION OF TAKING THE LITERATURE EXAM AND TAKING THE MATH QUESTION

Exam papers are top secret documents before the exam, so transportation and storage are given special attention. In Hanoi , when inspecting some exam sites, the City Exam Steering Committee noticed that some exam sites only had a two-door cabinet to store exam papers, so they reminded that cabinets must be arranged to store exam papers, with many separate compartments for each subject. This is to avoid confusion between exam subjects, for example, taking the math exam bag for the literature exam....

With the largest number of candidates registered for the exam among localities and accounting for 1/10 of the total number of candidates registered for the exam nationwide, the Steering Committee for the exam at all levels of Hanoi City gives the highest priority to the conditions for organizing the exam safely and seriously.

Yesterday, June 26, the Hanoi Examination Council's Examination Transport and Delivery Board completed the delivery of examination papers to examination sites. The examination transport and delivery plan was developed and implemented strictly, seriously, in accordance with regulations and kept absolutely confidential, under the supervision of the police force.

The supervisor checked the items the candidates brought into the exam room during yesterday's exam registration procedure.

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen, Principal of Tran Phu High School - Hoan Kiem (Hoan Kiem District), said that at this testing site, the preservation of exam papers and test papers is given special attention, ensuring that there are separate cabinets for storing exam papers and test papers. Each cabinet has separate compartments to store exam papers and test papers for each test session; there are labels clearly stating the information of the compartment and cabinet for storing exam papers and test papers for each session to avoid confusion.

For mountainous provinces, the transportation and preservation of exam papers have their own characteristics because there may be difficulties arising on the way (landslides, floods)... Mr. Do Minh Tam, Deputy Director of the Yen Bai Department of Education and Training, said: The exam paper transportation and handover committee consists of 17 officers, the head of which is the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training. The provincial exam steering committee has mobilized 4 specialized vehicles of the Yen Bai Provincial Police to participate in the transportation of exam papers; handing over all exam papers to the exam sites at once.

According to Mr. Tam, the Exam Paper Transport and Delivery Board has developed a detailed plan for transporting and delivering exam papers to exam locations, and contingency plans in case of storms, floods, and landslides.

The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates: The area where exam papers are stored must have police on duty, guarded 24 hours a day, and ensure fire and explosion prevention. The room where exam papers are stored must be safe and secure; there must be security cameras to monitor and record activities in the room 24 hours a day; there must be police on duty, guarded 24 hours a day; there must be a deputy head of the exam site who is a person from a high school that does not have candidates taking the exam at the exam site on duty in the room during the time the exam papers are stored at the exam site.

DO NOT LOSE THE CANDIDATES' EXAM PAPERS

Referring to the importance of preserving the exam papers of the candidates, Mr. Thuong said that in exams, if one candidate's exam paper is lost, there is no way to compensate and "help each other".

This year, in the circular amending and supplementing the regulations on high school graduation exams, the Ministry of Education and Training also clearly stipulates the preservation of exam papers of candidates. Specifically: "The exam storage room, exam marking room, cabinets, boxes or other items containing exam bags must be safe, secure, locked and sealed, and the seal must have the signatures of the key holder, the leader of the exam marking committee and the police. The keys to the exam storage rooms are kept by the leaders of the exam marking committees.

The room for storing exam papers, the room for marking multiple-choice exam papers, the room for marking essay exam papers, the place where the secretariat of the examination council and the secretariat of the multiple-choice exam marking committee perform their duties in the examination marking area must have fire and explosion prevention equipment; have security cameras to monitor and record activities in the room 24 hours a day; have police protection and supervision 24 hours a day. When closing or opening the room for storing exam papers, the room for marking exam papers, and cabinets, boxes or other items containing exam bags, the opening or closing of the room must be witnessed by the leader of the examination marking committee, the secretary, the police and must be fully recorded in a diary.

Nearly 99% of candidates completed exam procedures

In the 2024 high school graduation exam, the total number of candidates registered nationwide is 1,071,393. According to the Ministry of Education and Training, at the end of the exam registration procedure session on the afternoon of June 26, a total of 1,060,356 candidates nationwide came to complete the exam registration procedure, reaching a rate of 98.96%. The total number of candidates who did not come to complete the exam registration procedure was 11,037, accounting for a rate of 1.04%. According to the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who have not come to complete the procedure can continue this work early in the morning of June 27.
