The Government delegation worked online with the two provinces of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan.

On February 23, the Government delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, had an online meeting with the two provinces of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan on the situation of production, business, public investment, infrastructure construction and import and export of the localities. Attending at the provincial bridge point were Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments and branches.

At the working session, leaders of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces reported on the results of socio-economic development in 2023 and the first two months of 2024, and proposed a number of contents to the Government delegation. For Ninh Thuan province, in 2023, the province's GRDP growth rate reached 9.4%, ranking 9th out of 63 provinces and cities and 2/14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions; the fields of construction, trade, tourism, energy, and industry continued to recover and grow well. The socio-economic situation in the first two months of 2024 showed positive signs, the processing and manufacturing industry grew quite well; trade and service activities took place vigorously. However, the difficulties that emerged were that some industrial products of mining, construction, and cashew nuts decreased due to reduced consumption demand; business activities were still difficult...

Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the bridge point of our province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, proposed that the Government, ministries and central branches consider and soon approve the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to implement the road project connecting Tan Son town, Ninh Son district (Ninh Thuan) to Ta Nang intersection, Duc Trong district ( Lam Dong ), creating conditions for the province to soon complete the procedures to implement the project; proposed that the Government soon issue a plan to implement the VIII Power Plan and issue legal documents guiding the implementation of mechanisms and policies on electricity prices, bidding, auctions, investment in transmission infrastructure... to create conditions for the province to promote its potential and strengths in renewable energy. At the same time, consider adjusting the medium-term public investment plan of the central budget for the period 2021-2025 on a quarterly basis and supplement the capital plan for 2024 according to the province's submission.

Concluding the working session, the Minister of Transport highly appreciated the results achieved by the two provinces in socio-economic development in 2023 and the first months of 2024. In the coming time, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces need to promote the achieved results, overcome difficulties, create more growth values, take advantage of development advantages, especially connecting traffic infrastructure. Regarding the proposal of Ninh Thuan province to implement the VIII electricity plan, the draft has been submitted to the Government and is waiting for the Prime Minister to review and issue it for implementation in the coming time. Regarding the proposal to convert forest land for the Tan Son - Ta Nang road project, it is being studied by ministries and branches and will be promoted for approval in the coming time. Regarding medium-term public investment capital, arranging capital for the road connecting the expressway with National Highway 1, the working delegation acknowledged and recommended that relevant ministries and branches consider arranging early investment sources to implement the project. Some recommendations have arisen, and it is recommended that relevant ministries and branches continue to advise on handling them according to regulations.
