The investment policy of Ring Road 2.5, from Cau Giay to Dich Vong New Urban Area, was approved by the Hanoi People's Council on January 13, 2016, with a total estimated investment of more than VND 1,456 billion from the city budget.

According to the design, the route is 420m long, with a cross-section width of 50m (equivalent to the connecting road, Nguyen Van Huyen Street).

It is known that to implement the project, the authorities need to clear 21,459.7 square meters of land/338 options. Of which, more than 200 cases must be completely recovered and resettlement housing must be arranged.

According to the Hanoi Department of Transport, the Ring Road 2.5 is 19.41km long, with a cross-section width of 40-50m. The route is divided into 13 sections, of which 4 sections have been invested in and are 9.59km long according to the plan.

5 sections under investment with a length of 5.97km include: Ciputra Urban Area - Nguyen Hoang Ton - Diplomatic Corps (Investor of Ciputra Urban Area and Tay Ho Tay); Road 32 - Dich Vong New Urban Area (Cau Giay District is the investor); Dam Hong - National Highway 1A under the PPP form of BT contract.

4 sections that have not been invested in construction, 3.85km long, include: Section 1, Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe New Urban Area, Section 2 Trung Kinh - Tran Duy Hung, Section 3 Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai - Dam Hong, Section 4 Ho Vinh Hung - Linh Nam.
