Effectively connecting labor supply and demand in Hai Phong

Hai Phong City has continuously expanded recruitment support and job connection channels, helping workers easily access information, find suitable jobs, and support businesses in recruiting the right people for the right needs.

After maternity leave and working online, Ms. Dao Thi Thu Thuy (32 years old, Vinh Lai commune, Hai Phong ) looked up recruitment information on websites, applied for a sewing worker position at a foreign-invested enterprise and was accepted to work from October this year.

“At this time, I see that job opportunities are quite diverse, with both skilled positions and some positions that do not require experience. Most businesses commit to paying employees from 7 to 10 million VND/person/month. There are many options, so I prioritize working near home, to conveniently take care of my family and take my children to school,” said Ms. Thuy.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Head of the Department of Consulting, Job Introduction and Vocational Training (Hai Phong Employment Service Center) informed that, through the records in the job transaction sessions in August and September, many businesses need to recruit from 500 - 2,000 additional workers such as: Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd., Maple Co., Ltd., Hai Anh Garment Joint Stock Company (Duong An commune), Jasan Vietnam Co., Ltd.... With a large recruitment demand, workers will have many opportunities to choose jobs that suit their abilities, strengths and personal conditions.

In the last 3 months of 2025, many businesses continue to have the need to recruit more workers, with attractive benefits. On the billboard at the main gate of Horn Vietnam Co., Ltd., there is full and detailed information on salary levels, allowances (diligence, output, seniority, children, night shifts, environment...). In particular, there are large bonuses such as workers who come to apply themselves will be rewarded 3 million VND, people inside the company who introduce new workers (work for 3 months) will be rewarded 4 million VND...

According to Mr. Yu Peng Hui, General Director of Horn Vietnam Co., Ltd., the company's new order volume is quite stable, so in addition to operating production at factories No. 2, 6, 8, the company has just rented factory No. 1 of An Duong Industrial Park. It is expected that in the fourth quarter of this year, this enterprise will need to recruit about 1,000 additional workers.

In the West of Hai Phong, many new industrial parks are about to come into operation, requiring a large workforce. The An Phat 5 Industrial Park project (Luong Dien - Ngoc Lien) is accelerating infrastructure construction to welcome new investors from the fourth quarter of 2025, creating more jobs for tens of thousands of workers in the fields of electricity, electronics, manufacturing, automotive technology, supporting industries, consumer goods production, etc.

Add support channel

To "support" workers, since the beginning of 2025, the Hai Phong Employment Service Center (Department of Home Affairs) has conducted parallel direct and online job transaction sessions, thanks to which the number of workers accessing recruitment information and participating in interviews has increased by one and a half times compared to before. There have been many job transaction sessions attracting nearly 1,500 people to interact, follow, and respond... Career counseling programs and Job Fairs are opportunities for many businesses to directly assess candidates' abilities and find suitable personnel for job positions. After the job transaction sessions, about 3,000 workers passed the preliminary selection and were interviewed in depth.

Investigation, updating, and storage of market information, fluctuations in labor quantity and quality, and vocational training needs of workers are also conducted regularly so that the center can develop and propose vocational training plans associated with solving on-site employment and developing the labor market through job exchanges and job fairs.

Mr. Tang Tien Son, Director of Hai Phong Employment Service Center, said that in addition to organizing various forms of job consultation and introduction, the center will increase the number of Job Fairs connected with other provinces and cities, in order to expand the scope of recruitment for businesses. In addition, the center also promotes cooperation to organize mobile job fairs at high schools, vocational education centers - continuing education centers, secondary schools, colleges, etc. to "anticipate" the force that is about to enter the labor market.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh, Deputy Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, the total number of workers working in industrial parks and economic zones in the city is nearly 345 thousand people. Of which, more than 226 thousand people work in industrial parks in the East of Hai Phong and nearly 118 thousand people work in enterprises in the West of Hai Phong. In the past 9 months, enterprises in industrial parks and economic zones in the city have recruited about 4,000 workers.

In March 2025, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 807 approving the Project "Attracting and utilizing talents and high-quality human resources in Hai Phong City by 2030, with a vision to 2050". This is a practical corridor, an important basis like a "magnet" in the context of Hai Phong's great need for human resources to serve economic development.

However, according to the analysis of many economic experts and policy makers, Hai Phong needs to have more specific policies and stronger incentive mechanisms to attract workers for supporting industries, key economic sectors, high technology, clean technology, etc. to ensure the comprehensive and sustainable development of the city's economy in the era of development.
