Athlete Duong Truong Lap is the only Vietnamese athlete participating in this Games.
The 2025 Asian Winter Games taking place in Harbin, China , from February 7 to 14, will have 6 sports, 11 disciplines, and 64 events.
The Games had the participation of 34 delegations from countries and territories in Asia with more than 1,200 athletes. Vietnam competed in speed skating.
Athlete Duong Truong Lap is the only Vietnamese athlete participating in this Games.
Accordingly, the speed skating event at the Games will take place over 3 days from February 7 to 9, with a total of 9 sets of medals awarded. According to the registration, Truong Lap will participate in 3 events: 500m, 1,000m and 1,500m Short Track Speed Skating (men's individual short-distance speed skating). This is the first time Truong Lap has participated in this arena, carrying the aspiration to affirm the potential of Vietnamese winter sports.
To prepare for the Games, Duong Truong Lap has been practicing hard at the ice rink in Ho Chi Minh City. During the recent Tet holidays, Lap also had to postpone his trip home because he was busy practicing. Duong Truong Lap shared: "I will compete with all my might for the Vietnamese flag and colors."

Duong Truong Lap has been training in the Vietnam national skating team recently and is training at a training site in Ho Chi Minh City. During the training, Duong Truong Lap and coach Nguyen Vo Huu Vinh are preparing professionally to participate in the 2025 Asian Winter Games.
