On the morning of October 3, at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Stadium, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament took place, officially kicking off the third season. The Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament is an annual tournament jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre Newspaper.
In 2025, the tournament will enter its third season, continuing to affirm its role as a healthy and beneficial sports playground, creating opportunities for exchange, health training, and improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, civil servants, and laborers across the country.
The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament will go through 2 stages. Accordingly, the Qualifying Round will be held in the Northern region (Hanoi) and the Southern region ( Ho Chi Minh City) to select the 16 best teams to qualify for the National Finals, scheduled to take place at the end of October 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.
In which, the Northern Regional Qualifying Round gathered 16 participating teams including: Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union, Vietnam Education Trade Union, Ninh Binh Trade Union, Hai Phong City Trade Union, Dien Bien Trade Union, Hung Yen Trade Union, Hanoi City Trade Union, Bac Ninh 2 Trade Union, Phu Tho Trade Union, Vietnam Health Trade Union, Police Trade Union, Vietnam Bank Trade Union, Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union, State Bank Trade Union, VPBank Trade Union, Agribank Trade Union.
The 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups, playing a round robin to determine the 4 group winners and 4 group runners-up to enter the Quarterfinals. The Quarterfinals will be organized in a knockout format. The 4 teams that qualify for the Semifinals will also receive tickets to the National Finals. Meanwhile, the 4 teams that stop in the Quarterfinals will continue to compete in the play-off to select the remaining 2 tickets to the Finals.
The total prize of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament in the Northern region qualifiers is up to 170 million VND. Of which, the Champion of the Regional Qualifiers receives 60 million VND, the Second-place team receives 40 million VND, and the two Third-place teams each receive 20 million VND. In addition, the Regional Qualifiers also have many other prizes such as: Best Player, Player with the most goals, Best Goalkeeper, Most Fairplay Team, Most Impressive Cheerleading Team, Best Referee Team....
In addition to organizing football competitions, in the qualifying and final round competition areas, the Organizing Committee also implements online interactive activities such as voting for beautiful goals or direct interactive activities in the organizing area such as: free examination and consultation on sports medicine and musculoskeletal diseases; discount booths, minigames to receive attractive gifts... to take care of the cultural and spiritual life of workers, attracting audiences to the stadium to watch and cheer.
A notable highlight is that all matches of the tournament are livestreamed on social media platforms of Tuoi Tre newspaper, the tournament fanpage and the Vietnam Trade Union fanpage. This helps fans who cannot go to the stadium to cheer for the tournament and cheer for the players from afar.
