Vietnam women's team beat Guam, easily entering the Asian finals

(Dan Tri) - In the final match of Group E of the 2026 Asian Football Championship qualifiers on the evening of July 5, the Vietnamese women's team beat Guam 4-0. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team won a ticket to the final of the continental tournament.

Compared to Guam, the Vietnamese women's football team is rated much higher than its opponent on the Viet Tri field ( Phu Tho ). Therefore, it was not difficult for coach Mai Duc Chung's team to overwhelm the Guam women's team.

The ball had just rolled for a minute when the Vietnamese women's team opened the score, thanks to Nguyen Thi Van.

Before Guam could recover from the previous goal, they lost the second goal in the 13th minute. In this phase, Bich Thuy shot past the opposing goalkeeper in a face-to-face situation, raising the score to 2-0 for the Vietnamese women's football team.

Before the first half ended, the Vietnamese women's football team scored their third goal. Bich Thuy scored again, after a beautiful volley.

Leading by 3 goals, the home team took the initiative to play slowly in the second half. However, the Vietnamese women's football team still scored the 4th goal in the 73rd minute.

The winner for the 4-0 victory for the Vietnamese women's football team was Le Thi Diem My, after an accurate header.

Winning all 3 qualifying matches, the Vietnamese women's team has 9 absolute points, leading Group E. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team won a ticket to the final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship.
