Vietnam Social Security has just informed about the contribution level when participating in voluntary social insurance and the conditions for receiving pension after the contribution period.

Sending a question to Vietnam Social Security, Ms. TTH (born in 1968) said she has paid social insurance for 7 years and 2 months, now quit her job and stays at home and wants to continue participating to receive a pension later.
Regarding this content, Vietnam Social Security said that, based on the provisions of the law on social insurance, Ms. TTH can completely continue to pay to receive pension.
Ms. TTH can choose the income as the basis for voluntary social insurance payment at least equal to the poverty line of rural areas (currently 1.5 million VND/month), corresponding to a payment level of 330,000 VND/month.
Voluntary social insurance participants are supported by the State with payment at a percentage (%) of the monthly voluntary payment according to the poverty line of rural areas.
Specifically: 50% for participants from poor households, people living in island communes and special zones according to regulations of the Government and the Prime Minister ; 40% for participants from near-poor households; 30% for participants from ethnic minorities; 20% for other participants.
Thus, if Ms. TTH is a poor household, living in an island commune or special zone according to Government regulations, she will pay 165,000 VND/month (the budget supports 165,000 VND/month); If she is a near-poor household, she will pay 198,000 VND/month (the budget supports 132,000 VND/month);
If she is an ethnic minority, she will pay 231,000 VND/month (the budget supports 99,000 VND/month); If she is another participant, she will pay 264,000 VND/month (the budget supports 66,000 VND/month);
People can choose to pay one time for many years in the future, not more than 5 years (60 months) at a time.
