On February 7 (January 10, At Ty year), at Xa Loc Temple, Tu Xa commune, Lam Thao district, Xa Loc Temple Festival was held to commemorate the merits of brave general Lan Ho Hau - Do Thong Dai Vuong, a talented general who helped King Tran defeat the Yuan-Mongol army in 1256 - 1257, 13th century.

According to legend, Xa Loc Temple worships the brave general Lan Ho Hau who brought peace to the country. He was awarded eight words by King Tran: "Nam thien trang khi, Bac khau han tam; Cong cu de nhat, Trung Trac, Trung Nhi ha du yen" (Meaning "Nam thien trang khi, Bac khau han tam; Cong cu de nhat, Trung Trac, Trung Nhi ha du yen").

On the 10th of January every year, the people of Tu Xa commune and neighboring areas hold a grand celebration including solemn and splendid sacrifices and offerings. This is an occasion for villagers to show their respect to the Holy Lion Tiger Marquis - Do Thong Dai Vuong and offer the Saint elaborately prepared products with the wish to bless their families, clans, and villagers with good health, peace, and bountiful harvests in the new year...

Xa Loc Temple Festival is not only an occasion for local people to pay tribute to the talented general Lan Ho Hau but also to demonstrate the nation's tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking water".
