At exactly 8:00 p.m. on September 21, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with Ha Tinh Power Company successfully energized the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station under the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station project and made connections. This event took place in the excitement of the collective of engineers and workers who made efforts to overcome many difficulties, ensuring the progress and quality of the project; marking an important step in developing the power grid infrastructure, ready to provide safe and stable power to serve the Vung Ang Economic Zone and the development of the province.
The station is designed with 3 voltage levels 220kV, 110kV, 22kV, in this phase, 1 transformer with capacity of 125MVA will be installed; by 2030, the scale will be 2 transformers with capacity of 2x250MVA.

Mr. Bui Xuan Thai - Deputy Head of Technical Department, Central Power Project Management Board said: "After 3 years of construction, although there were many times when the units encountered many difficulties and challenges in compensation for site clearance, climate, and harsh weather, we are determined because the project is of special importance, building a critical path to complete it soon. Currently, the 220kV substation has completed energization, ready to receive power from Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant to the national power system after the connection line is completed.
However, the 220kV line has only completed 24/25 connections, 1 connection is still stuck with land acquisition. We hope that local authorities will have solutions to resolve the remaining land acquisition problems of the project. We will focus on directing the contractor to complete the connection line project as soon as possible, ensuring the project's goals."

The 220kV Vung Ang Transformer Station construction investment project has a total investment of about 394,517 billion VND, with the National Power Transmission Corporation as the investor, the Central Power Project Management Board (PMU) as the operator and the Vietnam Installation Corporation as the construction unit. The project includes a 220kV transformer station with an area of 3.3 hectares in Xom Trai, Vung Ang ward and a 13.42 km long connecting line passing through Vung Ang and Song Tri wards. The project has been under construction since April 2022. Up to now, there is only 1 connection section of the connecting line that is still stuck in the site clearance, unable to be implemented to put the project into operation and serve the power supply.
Mr. Pham Viet Thang - Deputy Technical Director of Ha Tinh Electricity Company said: "Currently, the entire southern region of the province is provided with a "unique" 110kV line from the 500kV Ha Tinh transformer station, which has been in operation for many years and is very difficult to overhaul and renovate due to its special nature. Putting the 220kV transformer station into operation and connecting is very important for the southern region, where industrial parks and clusters are concentrated, especially the Vung Ang Economic Zone, to provide a safe and stable power source for the most important growth engine center of the province, increase investment attraction, and contribute to ensuring the province's energy security. Ha Tinh Electricity Company has also completed the energization of the 110kV line after the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station, ready to supply electricity to the areas. Local authorities at all levels need to participate in site clearance and ensure the construction of the connecting line. 220kV is deployed as quickly as possible to put the project into smooth operation."

To ensure the infrastructure after the transformer station, on the afternoon of September 21, Ha Tinh Electricity Company coordinated with the Power Grid Project Management Board to conduct acceptance and successfully energize the 110kV output line after the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station. The project is invested by the Northern Power Corporation.
The project, once put into operation, will ensure safe, stable and reliable power supply for the province's load; maximize the investment efficiency of the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station; and contribute to completing the 110kV power grid according to the Power Development Plan of Ha Tinh province for the period 2016 - 2025, with a vision to 2035.

Construction of a new 2.7 km 110kV line from the 220 kV Vung Ang substation to the position of column 26A, 27A newly built at the position of column 26 - 27 of the 110kV Ky Anh - Vung Ang line; upgrading the 110kV double-circuit Ky Anh - Vung Ang line from AC240 conductor to ACCC-315 conductor (with load-carrying capacity equivalent to AC-400 conductor), in which, the section from the 110kV Ky Anh substation to the position of column 26A with single-circuit wire is 6.492 km long and the section from the 110 kV Vung Ang substation to the position of column 27A with double-circuit wire is 5.449 km long.
Mr. Tran Thanh Luan - 110kV line operation management team (Ha Tinh High Voltage Grid Enterprise) said: "To meet the energization plan, we regularly monitor the progress, urge the contractor to ensure the quality and plan to return the grid and energize as required. On the afternoon of September 21, the 110kV line was successfully energized, the unit also coordinated to clear the grid corridor, ensuring safe operation".
Completion of energizing the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station (part of the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station and connection project) and exporting the 110kV line is an important milestone, contributing to enhancing the reliability of the province's power supply, especially the Vung Ang Economic Zone, and creating an important foundation for industrial development, services and people's lives in the area.
