Contribute to turtle conservation

The event attracted 150 athletes to compete in two distances: 5km and 15km. Starting from The Secret Con Dao Hotel, the Save Turtles Run route passed through famous historical sites of Con Dao such as: Con Dao Prison Relics, Hang Keo Cemetery, 914 Bridge, Quang Trung Lake - the largest freshwater lake on the island.

This is the second consecutive year that the Sea Turtle Run program has been organized by The Secret Con Dao Hotel to raise funds for sea turtle conservation in Con Dao.

The Con Dao sea turtle conservation fundraising run was launched by The Secret Con Dao Hotel in early July.

Different from the event held in 2022, this time, with the participation of Vrun, the scale of the 2023 program is expanded through the form of a free online race on the Vrun platform.

For every kilometer completed by an online runner, The Secret Con Dao Hotel will contribute 1,000 VND to the Con Dao National Park’s sea turtle conservation fund. Runners can also contribute by purchasing merchandise such as a running shirt or an official medal.

In addition, when athletes book accommodation and pay the race entry fee directly, The Secret Con Dao Hotel also contributes 100,000 VND/person to the sea turtle conservation fund.

According to a representative of The Secret Con Dao Hotel, the total amount of money raised in this running race was more than 130 million VND and the entire amount was given to the representative of Con Dao National Park to serve the sea turtle conservation work right after the race ended.

Con Dao archipelago (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is currently performing the best sea turtle conservation work and is also the place with the largest number of turtles choosing to lay their eggs naturally in Vietnam. In recent years, the sea turtle conservation work of Con Dao National Park has increasingly attracted many tourists to Con Dao as well as providing more knowledge to tourists about this rare animal species.
