Dong Nai sets record for biggest cashew puffed sticky rice dish in Vietnam

Attending the meeting were Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son; Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai Province Le Thi Ngoc Loan; Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association Nguyen Thi Khanh along with representatives of the Vietnam Record Organization (VietKings), Tourism Association, Provincial Chefs Association and hundreds of international chefs and culinary experts from across the country.

At the meeting, the Vietnam Record Organization officially established the record for the largest fried sticky rice with cashew nuts in Vietnam for the Dong Nai Chefs Association, under the Dong Nai Tourism Association, at the Dong Nai Culinary Festival in 2025. The largest fried sticky rice with cashew nuts in Vietnam has a diameter of 68.2cm, a circumference of 215cm, and a height of 39cm.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Ngoc, Deputy Director of Vietnam Records Institute, General Secretary of Vietnam Records Organization said that the record of the largest fried sticky rice with cashew nuts in Vietnam has broken the record of fried sticky rice recorded in 2009.

The anniversary of the establishment of the Provincial Chefs Association is one of the activities of the Dong Nai Food Festival. In addition, the Food Festival also has activities such as: Model trimming competition, cooking competition, exchange with the master chef, culinary exchange activities and especially the activity of setting the record for the largest fried sticky rice with cashew nuts in Vietnam.

In recent times, the Dong Nai Province Chefs Association has made contributions to the development and promotion of the unique local cuisine. The Association has actively coordinated with the provincial departments and branches to create records such as: the largest rice cake in Vietnam, the largest grapefruit salad dish in Vietnam, the most fried sticky rice in Vietnam. In particular, Dong Nai's fried sticky rice dish is recognized as a record delicious dish in Asia, grapefruit salad is recognized by the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association as one of the typical dishes of Vietnamese cuisine. In addition, dishes such as: Bun ca lang dau may, wild bitter melon hotpot, 5 Ri shrimp hotpot, Thu Ha duck eggs... are also known to tourists when coming to Dong Nai.
