On September 22, speaking with Thanh Nien , Mr. Nguyen Phu, Vice Principal of Dong Du Secondary and High School ( Dak Lak ), said that the school organized a special extracurricular activity, taking 2,000 students to watch the movie "Red Rain" to learn more about the country's history.
According to Mr. Phu, the school currently has about 3,000 students, of which 2,000 are in grades 8-12, which are of the appropriate age as allowed by the producer of the film "Red Rain". This plan has been approved by the Board of Directors and implemented in several phases to ensure that the students' studies are not affected.
"We will divide into many groups, maybe up to 10 groups, to take the students to see movies over many days, starting from today. Besides the movie "Red Rain", the school will also flexibly organize for students to watch other historical movies suitable for their age and according to their wishes," said Mr. Phu.

For students in grades 6-7, the school will also let them watch age-appropriate historical films, such as films about local history at the Dak Lak Provincial Film Distribution and Screening Center.
The purpose of this extracurricular activity is to teach history in a more visual and vivid way. This year is a special time for the country with many important commemorative events. When students go to the movies with their class and school, the educational significance will be higher than going alone.
"We want to foster national spirit and love for the homeland in the children through these unique historical, cultural and artistic experiences," Mr. Phu shared.
