Six years ago, Li Ming decided to leave his small village in Zhejiang Province (China) to go to Shenzhen City to work. He hoped to change his life, have better finances to support his family, and let his mother, Wang Zhixia, live a comfortable life.
After moving to the big city, he found a good job with a high income and quickly became capable enough to take care of his mother. Due to the busy nature of his job, Ly Minh could not go home, but only called his mother to chat, proudly saying: "Mom, I have a decent income, every month I will send money back so that our family life will be better and better."
Vuong Chi Ha was very happy after hearing this. She told her son to take care of himself and not to overwork.

Since her son left home, the neighbors often asked if Minh was living well outside. Mrs. Vuong just smiled and replied, "He is living very well, sending money home every month, and the family's life is improving day by day, lacking nothing."
After six years of working away from home, Ly Minh now has a certain position, a stable job and a high income. Every month, he regularly sends money home to his mother and he believes that with that money, his mother will have a comfortable life.
However, when he returned to his hometown, the scene that greeted him surprised him because the house was still old, the furniture was shabby and outdated, and the refrigerator was empty.
During dinner that night, Ly Minh couldn't help but ask his mother: "Mom, why haven't you bought anything for the past few years that I've sent you money? Don't save so much that you have to suffer in life."
Hearing her son's question, Mrs. Vuong hesitated and then replied: "If you send me a few hundred yuan every month, what will you buy? There are so many things in life that need attention."
Ly Minh was shocked when he heard that: "Mom, I send tens of thousands of yuan every month, in total in six years it's more than 1.6 million yuan (about 5.6 billion VND). Don't joke with me."
Mrs. Vuong heard her son speak with a confused face, she affirmed that she did not receive such a large amount of money, only a small amount of money each month.
The next morning, Ly Minh took his mother to the bank to check his account and saw that the money was still transferred regularly every month. After checking, both mother and Ly Minh were confused and worried, wondering who had stolen the money.
After being assisted by bank staff in investigating, they quickly found that every month a large amount of money was transferred into Vuong's account, but it was quickly withdrawn through ATM and counter transactions.
When watching the surveillance camera footage, Ly Minh and her mother were shocked to realize that the person withdrawing the money was her cousin, Ly Hao.
Ly Minh felt very angry but also had many doubts. He asked his mother why he had her card, why he knew the password and withdrew money every month.
Mrs. Vuong silently thought and remembered that one time when she was sick, Ly Hao helped her withdraw money to pay the hospital bill. From then on, he knew the card password and every month, he took advantage of coming to her house to help with small tasks to steal the card and return it immediately afterward.
Li Ming and Mrs. Wang could not believe that their close brother and good nephew could do such a thing to them. Immediately, he asked the bank to contact the police.
When she got home, Mrs. Vuong sighed and silently shed tears because she couldn't believe what had happened. Ly Minh could only comfort his mother and promised to pursue the responsibility to the end so that he wouldn't escape punishment.
After the investigation, Ly Hao admitted to taking advantage of his aunt's trust to steal a large amount of money that Ly Minh sent home.
He was arrested by the police for fraud, and Ly Minh and his mother only recovered a small portion of the lost money.
Even though they got back some of their money, Ly Minh and her mother still felt very sad about being deceived by their relatives. They felt helpless when faced with the fact that money and family affection had lost its value and could be freely exploited.
