Rice prices continue to fall sharply

According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of raw rice IR 504 has decreased by 1,200 VND, fluctuating at 7,500-7,600 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 has decreased by 300 VND, fluctuating at 10,000-10,200 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the prices of by-products and by-products of all kinds also decreased, fluctuating between 6,000 and 7,600 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant rice bran has decreased sharply, fluctuating between 7,400 and 7,600 VND/kg; the price of dry bran fluctuates between 6,000 and 6,100 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, the quantity is small, the price of rice of all kinds has decreased compared to last weekend, new transactions are slow. In Sa Dec ( Dong Thap ), the quantity has been coming in slowly, the export warehouses are still buying moderately, even stopping buying, the price of raw rice of all kinds is not stable, continuing to decrease slightly.

In An Giang , the new trading market is slow, rice prices have decreased. In Lap Vo - Vam Cong (Dong Thap), the amount of rice has arrived quite a lot, warehouses have bought less so they have to stock up on rice, prices have decreased compared to the weekend.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), the quantity is small, boats have difficulty selling, market rice warehouses buy slowly, rice prices of all kinds are reduced. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the quantity is sporadic, traders buy slowly, there is little good rice, prices of all kinds of rice are reduced.

At retail markets, rice prices are the same as yesterday. Regular rice fluctuates at 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 28,000 VND/kg. Fragrant rice is offered at high prices ranging from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,500 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice 18,500 VND/kg; Thai Soc rice 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,500 VND/kg.

Similarly, with rice, new transactions continue to be slow, farmers offer lower prices. According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice fluctuates at 8,400 - 8,500 VND; OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 8,800 - 8,900 VND; OM 380 rice is at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg; and Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.

In many localities today, rice trading has been stagnant due to the continuous fluctuation and sharp decline in rice prices. In Soc Trang, there are few buyers, so trading has been stagnant. In Dong Thap, many traders have abandoned their rice deposits, farmers are offering low prices but there are still few buyers.

In Bac Lieu, new rice trading has stopped, traders mainly buy rice and ask for prices. In Kien Giang, new rice trading has stopped, farmers offer low prices but there are no buyers.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today remained unchanged compared to last weekend. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 5% standard rice is currently at 473 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 438 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 332 USD/ton.
