One afternoon at rush hour at Ban Co market (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), people were excitedly choosing secondhand items that suited them.

Having just chosen a pair of boots that she really likes, My Ngoc (28 years old) said that she has been a fan of this fashion since she was a student. As a Gen Z, My Ngoc feels that young people who know how to mix and match secondhand clothes have good taste.

"For me, secondhand clothes give me many options for my outfit. For example, I want to buy a pair of leather boots. When I go to work, I can combine these shoes with office clothes, and when I go out, I will combine them with some active outfits," Ngoc laughed.

Having experience, My Ngoc shares interesting tips when choosing and coordinating outfits based on observation and touch to feel. For example, when buying leather shoes, Ngoc looks at them and touches the leather material. If she feels good, that pair of shoes will be her first choice.

Sharing the same hobby, Le Thuong (25 years old) went around the market to find a dress that matched the shirt she had at home. When asked about her hobby, Thuong happily gave everyone tips on how to coordinate clothes from secondhand fashion.

With some secondhand items that are beautiful and suitable for personal style but have tears or stains, Thuong will "fix" them by adding accessories to cover up the flaws such as stickers, glasses, scarves... Thuong said that this way of combining still shows off the seams and covers up all the flaws of the outfit that she is quite satisfied with.

Shopping spree because of great deals

In the evening, visiting a secondhand fashion shop in Thu Duc City (HCMC), Lam Ngoc (26 years old) was satisfied when he chose quality items at affordable prices. Lam Ngoc shared that buying secondhand items is "more profitable" because there are shirts with similar prices as new ones, and the quality is the same.

Whenever buying new clothes, Ngoc often spends a lot of money on choosing jackets and shirts from fashion stores. However, when secondhand fashion is popular, she loves to hunt for items with many new designs and much more reasonable prices. In particular, secondhand clothes often have many promotional programs.

"Before, I had to spend a lot of money to buy a new shirt. Now I can choose more styles of clothes with the same amount of money at secondhand stores, and if I'm lucky, I can find branded items," Ngoc laughed.

Understanding the trend of young people liking to buy secondhand goods, Nhu Phuong (21 years old) and her friends from her hometown opened a consignment store for clothes, accessories, shoes, handbags... in Hue City.

Having a passion for business and inspired by shops in Ho Chi Minh City, Nhu Phuong said she wanted to open this shop because Gen Z is currently fond of buying used clothes.

Nhu Phuong excitedly shared: "I opened this store because I want young people to be able to freely buy clothes at cheap prices, suitable for their budget. Besides, I also aim to protect the environment, making the most of the usefulness of clothes."
