Family in turmoil after artist Vu Linh passed away

Nearly three months after the death of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, family discord broke out between Hong Loan (daughter) and Hong Nhung, Hong Phuong (younger sister and niece) of the male artist.

Both families have spoken out after the uproar on social media. Hong Loan said she had absolutely no knowledge of the tomb being built for her father. Binh Duong Flower Cemetery refused to work because the people who signed the contract were artists Hong Nhung and Hong Phuong.

Meanwhile, artist Hong Phuong's side made a statement and clarified the matter of bringing BH Media (the exclusive image company of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh) to the funeral, related to the copyright issue on YouTube that caused artist Vu Luan to be misunderstood.

Hong Loan: "I don't know anything about building my father's tomb"

Appearing at the grave of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh at Binh Duong Cemetery, Hong Loan said she wanted to clarify the matter of not being informed by Hong Phuong and Hong Nhung about the construction of her father's grave so as to avoid misunderstandings from the audience.

"Up until today (May 20), when I contacted Ms. Nga (who has taken care of artist Vu Linh for 10 years), she still said she did not know when the grave would be rebuilt. When I called the cemetery, they refused to reveal anything and said they were only working on Hong Nhung's side," Hong Loan said.

Hong Loan is the legally adopted daughter of artist Vu Linh.

Meritorious Artist Vu Luan said Hong Loan is the only legal daughter of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh.

"If Hong Loan did not agree, the flower garden could not do this. Hong Loan is the child but does not know what happened on her father's grave. Everything is from the internet. That is what Loan is upset about, so there is a meeting today," said Vu Luan.

Hong Loan said that when she was alive, artist Vu Linh did not want to bother anyone. After her death, many people took advantage of her father's name to call for donations . "I hope you will share to get back the money you donated. I do not want my father to be indebted to anyone after he passes away."

In addition, Hong Loan said she was constantly told that she was adopted, while she was the only legal child of artist Vu Linh on paper. She did not know or be informed about anything in the family since artist Vu Linh passed away.

"From the time he passed away to the time he went through several difficulties, the funeral money was more than 600 million VND, the remaining amount of money my father had was about 4,000 USD. I don't know anything," she added.

Hong Phuong's niece "statement"

Present at the grave of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh with Hong Loan, Vu Luan said that in recent days he has been criticized by many people for no reason because they think that the male artist was the one who brought BH Media to the funeral to exclusively report on Vu Linh's image.

When criticized and everything was revealed, Vu Luan was surprised that neither Hong Loan nor Binh Tinh knew who brought the media team. When he contacted BH Media and asked to see the contract, the person who signed was Hong Phuong, with the revenue percentage being BH Media receiving 40%, Hong Phuong receiving 60%.

"When I was criticized, I contacted Hong Phuong to ask for a correction. Phuong remained silent and said she was also a victim," Vu Luan said.

Vu Luan affirmed that he did not copyright anyone who took the images from the funeral of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh. The person who used the video of the male artist cut the clip from BH Media, it is completely not his business.

Amidst the public storm, Hong Phuong explains.

The niece of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh said she decided to sign a contract with BH Media to manage the artist, so as not to distort his image after his death. After the revenue is generated, the money will be put into a separate account for the family to prepare for Vu Linh's upcoming worship occasions.

The amount of nearly 90 million VND was transferred into the 0 VND account of Kim Nga - the person who took care of Vu Linh in his last days.

"Until now, all expenses for worshiping him at home have been paid by Ms. Nga. Hong Phuong commits that the above documents and information are true and takes full responsibility for her statements. False statements with the purpose of insulting and defaming the honor of individuals and families related to this issue will be reported, handled and clarified at the competent state agency," artist Vu Linh's niece shared.

Meanwhile, Vu Luan wondered why Hong Loan - the first legal heir of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh's assets - did not receive the above amount. All funeral and grave work was not done through Vu Linh's only daughter but was given to Kim Nga.

Meritorious Artist Vu Linh passed away on March 5 after a long battle with cancer. At the funeral, Hong Phuong said Hong Loan was his adopted daughter. Meanwhile, Hong Loan said she was Vu Linh’s only daughter, living in the same house until she got married. Meritorious Artist Vu Linh did not leave a will when he passed away.
