Rice price decreased by 100 VND/kg, rice export increased slightly

Rice prices today, June 29, in the Mekong Delta region slightly decreased for rice while remained stable for paddy. Rice market transactions were slow, prices decreased slightly.

The rice market in the Mekong Delta today is generally still low in volume and slow in transactions. Specifically, in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice arrivals are low, rice quality has not improved, warehouse purchases are slow, rice prices fluctuate slightly. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang ), rice arrivals are low, warehouse purchases are good, prices have dropped slightly for good rice, new good rice has dropped by 100 VND. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), rice arrivals are good, transactions are slow, rice quality is poor, few good lots.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of rice today decreased slightly by 100 VND compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of IR 504 raw rice is at 10,700 - 10,850 VND/kg; the price of IR 504 finished rice is at 12,600 - 12,900 VND/kg.

Similarly, the price of by-products today has been adjusted compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 sheet has been adjusted compared to yesterday at 9,100 - 9,300 VND/kg, down 200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran remains stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 20,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 20,000 - 21,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice 18,500 VND/kg; Thai Soc rice 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. 3-month sticky rice (dry) remained unchanged compared to the price from 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. In addition, 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An sticky rice (dry). On the other hand, 3-month sticky rice (fresh) and Long An sticky rice (fresh) continued to be stable today.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices have been adjusted. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice is stable at 468 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is currently at 569 USD/ton, up 2 USD; 25% broken rice is stable at 544 USD/ton, up 1 USD.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 6 months of the year, the whole country cultivated 5.03 million hectares of rice, an increase of 0.9% over the same period last year. As of June 28, the whole country had harvested 3.48 million hectares of rice, an increase of 0.5%; the average yield was 67.1 quintals/ha, an increase of 0.7 quintals/ha; the output on the harvested area reached 23.3 million tons, an increase of 1.6% over the same period last year. In the first 6 months of the year, rice exports reached 4.68 million tons (up 10.4%), worth 2.98 billion USD (up 32%).
