Pig price today August 19: Decreased across the board

Pig prices continue to decrease across many provinces and cities across the country, especially in the North and Central regions.

In the North, the price of live pigs decreased by VND2,000 in Hung Yen to VND58,000/kg. Many localities decreased by VND1,000 to VND59,000/kg including Hanoi , Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Phu Tho. Meanwhile, the provinces of Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang decreased by VND1,000 to VND58,000/kg. Localities such as Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La decreased by VND1,000 to VND57,000/kg. Tuyen Quang is the only locality in the region that maintained the price of the previous day at VND59,000/kg.

In the Central region, the price of live pigs continued to decrease by VND1,000 in Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Gia Lai to VND55,000/kg - the lowest in the country. The decrease of VND1,000 was also recorded in Da Nang to VND56,000/kg; Khanh Hoa to VND59,000/kg and especially Lam Dong to VND61,000/kg, the highest in the region. The remaining provinces and cities range from VND56,000 - VND59,000/kg.

Pig prices in the South fluctuated little; An Giang and Vinh Long both decreased by VND1,000 to VND61,000/kg. The remaining provinces and cities had VND62,000/kg, with Ca Mau having the highest price at VND63,000/kg.

The average price of live pigs nationwide is 58,800 VND/kg. Following the same trend, the price of duck meat also decreased slightly to the national average of 47,100 VND/kg, and the price of chicken meat is 59,500 VND/kg.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of pork at wholesale markets ranges from 68,000 to 70,000 VND/kg. Prices of some popular meat products such as pork chops 101,000 VND/kg, thigh meat 113,000 VND/kg, pork belly 166,000 VND/kg, ribless pork belly 202,000 VND/kg, boneless pork leg 130,000 VND/kg, lean pork 168,000 VND/kg.../.
