Gia Lai is about to have a port worth more than 6,000 billion VND.

Phu My Port - Phase 1 is being implemented in Phu My Dong Commune ( Gia Lai ). The expected area is about 205 hectares, including 60 hectares of land and 145 hectares of sea surface. Construction will start in September 2026 and the project items will be completed in October 2028. Acceptance and handover will be carried out for operation.

The goal is to build Phu My Port to ensure regional planning integration and form an industrial city and port city in the future.

In which, Phu My Industrial Park (IP) and Phu My Port are organically linked together, the port's operations are closely linked to the industrial park, meeting the production and cargo transportation needs of Phu My IP. At the same time, promoting traffic connection to the port to meet the inter-regional connection needs; increasing the proportion of maritime logistics transport. Phu My Port is the nucleus promoting the formation of an industrial urban area - seaport.

Preliminary forecast of cargo volume through the port by 2030 is about 3.8 - 4.4 million tons/year. Including: liquid cargo, general cargo, containers, materials, equipment, packages, bulk cargo, specialized energy equipment.

Capacity/volume of goods passing through the port from 2028: general cargo, containers from 2.4 - 3.0 million tons/year; liquid/gas cargo about 1.4 million tons/year.

According to information from the Gia Lai People's Committee, it is expected that on the morning of August 19, the province will start and inaugurate a series of key projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Accordingly, the province started the investment project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport, with a total investment of more than VND 3,200 billion, implementation period from 2025 to 2028.

At the same time, Gia Lai province inaugurated the project to build a bypass road south of Phu Phong town (now Tay Son commune), nearly 18km long, with a capital of more than 790 billion VND, starting in August 2022; the project of the road connecting from the western road of the province (DT.638) to the coastal road (DT.639) with a total capital of more than 818 billion VND, more than 19km long.

In addition, the project of Concentrated Agricultural and Forestry Production and Processing Zone and Phu My Industrial Park Project - Phase 1 were started.

Specifically, the project of Concentrated Agricultural and Forestry Production and Processing Zone will be organized in Village 2 (Tay Son Commune) with Vinanutrifood Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company as the investor; the total investment in phase 1 is up to nearly 500 billion VND.

Phu My Industrial Park Project - Phase 1 is organized in Phu My Dong Commune. The project is invested by Phu My Investment Group Joint Stock Company, with a scale of more than 436 hectares, total capital of more than 4,500 billion VND.
