Despite difficulties at the beginning of the year due to China's increased plant quarantine, causing some shipments to be returned, Vietnam's durian exports have quickly recovered strongly since mid-year. The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association estimates that in September alone, durian export turnover reached 800-900 million USD, a record high to date.

The export target of 1.6 million tons and a turnover of about 9 billion USD in 2025 is within reach.
Pepper price on October 15, 2025: Domestic price slightly decreased
On the morning of October 15, domestic pepper prices continued to decrease in most key pepper growing areas, fluctuating between 145,000 - 147,000 VND/kg.
In the international market, pepper prices tend to increase slightly, and Vietnam's pepper exports to China recorded impressive growth, accounting for more than 40% of this country's import market share.
In the Central Highlands, pepper prices were adjusted down this morning. In Dak Lak, the purchase price is currently at 147,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND compared to the previous trading session. Rice price on October 15, 2025: Market is quiet
On the morning of October 15, rice prices in the Mekong Delta continued to move sideways, with almost no significant fluctuations. The domestic market fell into a state of slow trading, with supply to the market being limited.
In the Mekong Delta, rice prices this morning remained unchanged compared to yesterday. In An Giang, trading activities were quiet, with few arrivals and many warehouses limiting purchases. In Lap Vo and Sa Dec (Dong Thap) areas, rice arrived slowly, prices remained stable. In An Cu (Dong Thap), trading volume was small, with no price fluctuations.
The price of raw rice in this area remains around the old level. IR 504 rice is currently fluctuating at 7,900 - 8,100 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is from 8,650 - 8,750 VND/kg; CL 555 is 8,100 - 8,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 is around 8,100 - 8,250 VND/kg. In the retail market, rice prices remain stable. Jasmine rice remains at VND22,000/kg; regular rice is around VND13,000-14,000/kg; Thai fragrant rice fluctuates between VND20,000-22,000/kg, and Nang Nhen rice remains the highest at VND28,000/kg.
The glutinous rice segment did not record any changes, with fresh IR 4625 glutinous rice at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg, and dried glutinous rice at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. By-products such as bran and broken rice were also stable, fluctuating around 6,850 - 7,250 VND/kg.
In many localities, the rice fields have been cleared, and the buying and selling of new rice is slow. In Vinh Long, the amount of rice harvested is scattered, and traders have reduced their purchases, causing prices to decrease slightly. In An Giang, transactions are few, new supplies are not abundant, and prices remain stable. In Can Tho and Ca Mau, traders are mainly waiting for the harvest time, and new transactions are almost absent.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of rice today is still the same as yesterday. Specifically, OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 (fresh) rice fluctuates at 5,800 - 6,000 VND/kg; OM 308 rice ranges from 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 reaches the highest level of 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg; IR 50404 remains at 5,000 - 5,200 VND/kg; and OM 5451 is stable at around 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg.

However, rice exports in September 2025 only reached 466,800 tons, equivalent to 232 million USD, down 43% in volume and 55% in value compared to the same period in 2024. The main reason was that the Philippines temporarily stopped importing goods, causing a sharp decline in export output.
In that context, Ghana has emerged as Vietnam's largest import market, accounting for nearly 22% of total rice exports. Following behind is Ivory Coast with 21% and Malaysia with 10%. In the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam exported about 6.8 million tons of rice, reaching a turnover of 3.5 billion USD, down 2% in volume and nearly 20% in value compared to the same period last year.
In the world market, the price of 5% broken white rice from India remained stable at 364 - 368 USD/ton; Thailand maintained the price at 336 - 340 USD/ton; and Pakistan fluctuated at 348 - 352 USD/ton.
In contrast to the slowdown of these countries, Cambodia recorded impressive export results with 596,341 tons of milled rice in the first 9 months of the year, earning 408 million USD in revenue, up 33.7% over the same period. This growth was thanks to the country's promotion of rice brands and expansion of export markets to Europe and China.

The Central and Central Highlands regions recorded slight fluctuations when the price of live pigs in Dak Lak decreased by VND 1,000/kg, down to VND 50,000/kg, the same level as Gia Lai - the two localities with the lowest prices in the country.
