Price difference makes farmers angry
Although durian prices are high, there is still a situation where traders are forcing down prices, especially for durians in bulk or defective products. Many farmers said that the same type of durian but the purchase price of the warehouses is quite different, making it difficult for them to feel secure when bringing the product to market.
Meanwhile, high-end varieties such as Musang King still maintain their own appeal, being purchased at 60,000 - 70,000 VND/kg, contributing to diversifying choices for consumers and creating a stable source of income for gardeners.
Market outlook durian
Durian prices are forecast to remain high amid rising export demand. However, for farmers to truly benefit, there needs to be stability in purchasing and price suppression. Both Vietnamese and Thai durians are showing potential for expansion, especially in the Chinese and European markets.
