In the short term, when supply and demand are still not balanced and the supply of goods in the population is limited, pepper prices will continue to be kept high and may increase slightly. Pepper prices in the Central Highlands and Southeast provinces continued to increase slightly this afternoon. The purchase price fluctuated between 150,000 - 153,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc are two localities with stable prices, unchanged from the previous trading session. Pepper price in Gia Lai is currently at 150,000 VND/kg, while Binh Phuoc maintains the level of 151,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, pepper prices in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Dak Lak, and Dak Nong all increased by 1,000 VND/kg. The latest purchase price in Ba Ria – Vung Tau is 152,000 VND/kg, while in Dak Lak and Dak Nong, pepper prices reached 153,000 VND/kg.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), domestic pepper prices are remaining high and showing a slight upward trend. Specifically, on September 3, the price reached VND154,000 - 155,000/kg, and is currently fluctuating around VND152,000 - 153,000/kg. This price is significantly higher than the VND142,000 - 143,000/kg at the end of August.

The price increase is mainly due to the dwindling domestic supply. The harvest season ended in May, and most farmers have sold, leaving little inventory. Meanwhile, export businesses are still having to step up purchases to meet signed orders.

Regarding exports, the first 8 months of 2025 were a boom period for the Vietnamese pepper industry. Export turnover exceeded 1.1 billion USD, the highest figure in the past 7 years. Although export output decreased by 9.4% compared to the same period in 2024 (reaching 166,510 tons), turnover increased sharply by 28%.
