According to travel agencies in Hai Duong , although the price of air tickets has cooled down compared to the 2024 Lunar New Year (down about 10-20%), airfares are still high, with some routes doubling the same period last year. This is the highest increase in many years.

The reason is that from March 1, Circular No. 34/2023/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 17/2019/TT-BGTVT on promulgating the price framework for passenger transport services on domestic routes took effect, stipulating that the price framework for passenger transport services on domestic routes increased from 2.27-6.67% compared to before. In addition, airlines are in the process of maintaining their vehicles. Having to rent aircraft, even staff from other foreign airlines, has pushed up ticket prices. In addition, there is pressure on exchange rates, raw material prices... Some routes have double the price of air tickets compared to the same period last year such as: Hanoi - Nha Trang; Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City (both more than 3 million VND/way); Hanoi - Japan; Hanoi - Korea (both over 10 million VND/way)... It is expected that from now until the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday (10-3 lunar month, April 30 - May 1), airfares may increase further. Along with that, prices for accompanying services such as accommodation and food may also increase.

However, as of March 14, the number of tourists booking tours for upcoming holidays in Hai Duong still increased by about 10% compared to the same period last year. Due to the improving economic situation, people are spending more on travel and leisure needs.

According to travel agencies, during the April 30-May 1 holiday, people tend to travel abroad more with tours to Phoenix Ancient Town, Lijiang (China), Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia... Visitors tend to leave from April 27 (Saturday) to extend the holiday. During the Hung Kings' death anniversary, visitors go on domestic tours due to the short break. Domestic tours are often chosen during this time such as Hue, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang...
