VHO - Taking place on September 13-14, the 9th Northern Chess Championship 2025, organized by the Cao Bang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Vietnam Chess Federation, successfully concluded, attracting enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Awarding gold, silver, silver medals to outstanding athletes who won prizes

The 9th Northern Chess Championship in 2025 is a regional intellectual sports event attracting the participation of nearly 400 athletes from 17 delegations and clubs of provinces and cities in the Northern region, of which Cao Bang delegation has 105 athletes participating.

This is a useful playground, contributing to nurturing talents, training logical thinking, patience and creativity for the young generation; at the same time, enhancing exchanges and connections between localities, and is also an opportunity for the province to promote and introduce the unique culture and beautiful natural landscapes of Cao Bang to friends and tourists across the country.

Athletes compete in two groups: Advanced group for all athletes, regardless of class, except for U6 age group and amateur group for athletes who have never won a medal at national or international level, competing in age groups from U6 to U17. Competition contents include: men's individual, women's individual, men's team, women's team in age groups; rapid chess, blitz chess and super blitz chess.

The tournament had the participation of many national and international champions, athletes who achieved high results at world youth tournaments. The matches were exciting, attractive, attracting enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 198 gold medals, 191 silver medals, and 315 bronze medals in the individual and movement categories, and individual and team events in rapid chess, blitz chess, and super blitz chess. The Cao Bang delegation won 13 gold medals, 26 silver medals, and 94 bronze medals.
