“The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 is not only an event to honor outstanding units, but also an opportunity to connect state management agencies, professional associations, tourism businesses, training institutions and media agencies, together towards the goal of developing sustainable Vietnam tourism. Thereby, promoting the economy , encouraging investment, innovation, empowering the community, protecting natural resources and spreading cultural and social values,” said Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu at the press conference of the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025, which took place this afternoon, September 22, in Hanoi.

Mr. Ha Van Sieu emphasized that this is also an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam as a friendly, safe and attractive destination; at the same time, encourage businesses to constantly innovate, apply advanced technology, improve product and service quality, and increasingly better meet the diverse needs of domestic and international tourists.

After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award returned for the 20th year, held in the context of many important events taking place in the country: the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2; 80th anniversary of the Cultural Industry's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025), especially the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry (July 9, 1960 - July 9, 2025).

Vietnam Tourism Awards is the most prestigious award of Vietnam Tourism industry, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to honor tourism businesses, prestigious organizations and educational training establishments, media and press agencies that have made positive contributions to the development of Vietnam Tourism industry.

The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 ceremony will be held on World Tourism Day (September 27) with the message of responding to the transformation of sustainable tourism launched by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).

Director of the National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh said that the organizing committee of the Award has received 209 applications and the Jury will select 115 awards in 11 categories.

According to the organizers, after the pandemic, Vietnam tourism has had a spectacular recovery, far exceeding the planned targets and becoming one of the bright spots of the country's economy. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) assessed that Vietnam tourism will have the best recovery in the ASEAN region in 2024.

The number of international tourists to Vietnam in the past 8 months is estimated at nearly 14 million, the number of domestic tourists is estimated at 106 million, total revenue from tourists is estimated at 707 trillion VND.

Over the past eight months, Vietnam's tourism industry has achieved the world's leading growth rate (up 21.7%). Vietnam's tourism also continues to rise in the Tourism Development Capacity Index announced by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Industry leaders assessed that these impressive results were achieved thanks to the attention of Party and State leaders who issued policies to remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for the tourism industry, the support of Committees, ministries and branches, and especially the great efforts of state management agencies on tourism at the central and local levels, businesses and associations, along with the effective participation of the community and the companionship of news agencies and press.

2025 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry and is also the 20th time the Award has been held. In particular, after a 5-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the return of the Award is meant to honor and encourage the efforts to overcome difficulties of businesses and units operating in the tourism sector.

The Vietnam Tourism Awards are not only a "measure of prestige" for the industry but also a driving force to encourage businesses to improve service quality, diversify products, and build local and national tourism brands./.

The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 ceremony will take place on September 27 in Dong Anh and will be broadcast live on VTV1.

This year's awards will honor 11 categories and 18 titles, from travel, accommodation, transportation, community destinations, food services, spas, golf courses to creative products, communications and tourism training facilities.
